Danish teacher for the lower primary grades at Haarby School

Haarby School is looking for an engaged and relationship-focused teacher who is passionate about students' academic development and well-being. It is an advantage if you also have skills in crafts and design and/or physical education.

This is a full-time position with a start date of December 1, 2026.

About us Haarby School is a two-track school located in Haarby in Assens Municipality. We have about 325 pupils and around 40 dedicated staff. The school is surrounded by good facilities for movement, and nature is an active part of our everyday life.

Our most important task is to equip the pupils for the future – while preserving their curiosity, joy of life and desire to participate actively in the community.

About the position We are looking for a teacher who can teach Danish in the lower primary (early years) and also preferably crafts and design. You should enjoy working with the youngest pupils and be focused on creating a school day where students feel safe and motivated to learn.

In the lower primary it is important for us that you can create clear and safe boundaries where the pupils have the opportunity to develop academically, socially and personally. You must be able to meet the children with presence, clarity and warmth and at the same time have an eye for each child’s participation opportunities.

In addition to Danish and possibly crafts and design or physical education, we are curious about what else you can contribute. Please tell us what skills, interests or experiences you bring.

• Are a professionally skilled teacher with Danish language competencies
• Can create safe, motivating and inclusive learning environments in the lower primary
• Possibly have competencies in crafts and design and/or physical education
• Can establish clear boundaries and good relationships with the children
• Have a positive view of children, and meet the pupils with clarity and warmth
• Are engaged, flexible and have good cooperation skills
• Can see opportunities and actively contribute to the school’s community
• Want to bring your other professional and personal competencies into play
• Have a sense of humor and contribute to a good mood in everyday life
