We are seeking an engaged and relationship-focused teacher with Danish as a central subject for our special class S2, who is motivated to make a difference for our students and give them a good and safe school day. The position also includes teaching in other subjects in S2 and S3, e.g., history, social studies, movement and creative, and you will also have about 7 lessons teaching in general classes in the lower/middle primary years.

In S2 and S3 there are students from 3rd to 9th grade, distributed across two classes with about 10 students in each.

Teaching is carried out in close collaboration between one teacher and one pedagogue, and daily life is characterized by clear frameworks, structure and a strong focus on relationships.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Danish and has the ability to make the subject meaningful, comprehensible and applicable – also for students who need a different approach to learning. You work ambitiously so that all students become as proficient as they can be, and you know that academic development goes hand in hand with safety, predictability and well-being.

Whether you are newly graduated and curious about the special needs area, or you have experience from special education or the general education sector, we would love to hear from you. The most important thing is that you want to work with a diverse student group and can see yourself in close, professional collaboration with both pedagogues and teachers.

With us you will become part of a school where collaboration, joint reflection and professional sparring are given high priority. We help each other, share knowledge and support – both when everyday life succeeds and when it challenges.

Nymarkskolen is a sports school, and movement is an integral part of our pedagogical and didactic approach. Therefore we see it as a strength if you can also incorporate movement and practice-based learning in teaching – adapted to the students' needs and prerequisites.

If you would like to experience the atmosphere at Nymarkskolen, you are very welcome to contact us and arrange a visit – we are ready with coffee/soft drinks and look forward to meeting you.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • is a qualified teacher with Danish as a teaching subject
  • is a calm and clear adult who stands strong in classroom management
  • can meet the students with respect, care and a resource-oriented outlook
  • can remain calm and look beyond the students' behaviour – even when it gets tough
  • is engaged and reliable
  • can take shared responsibility for the team's common tasks
  • collaborates in a constructive way with colleagues, management, parents and students

Who are we?

At Nymarkskolen we value community highly, as we believe it strengthens us in our shared task of ensuring learning and well-being for all students. Our values are: learning, movement, collaboration, diversity, well-being and community.

We have 600 students distributed over 2-3 streams from kindergarten to 9th grade and 74 staff. Nymarkskolen is a sports school and has the municipality's only sports talent program for grades 7 to 9. In addition, we have a range of special classes from kindergarten to 9th grade and two reception classes for the oldest students in Slagelse town.

We offer

  • a well-functioning school where there is room for both the newly qualified and experienced teachers
  • a strong team collaboration in year groups, class teams and subject teams
  • opportunity for professional sparring and mentoring program
  • flexitime
  • option to add lunch at Madkassen , where Pia makes delicious food
