About the job

Do you thrive at translating data into a practical reality and would you like to help make a difference? Then apply for the job as a Data Consultant in Economics, Data & Projects in the Prehospital Care in the Region of East Denmark - Næstved

Are you coming along on the team?

We are expanding the data section and must at the same time say goodbye to a good colleague. The Prehospital Care is therefore looking for two data consultants – one in Ballerup and one in Næstved, who will help ensure that the Prehospital Care translates data into developing and improving services for citizens.

Can you work with analytical data in large data sets, and are you ready to communicate the results to colleagues and management, both verbally and through various tools? If yes, then you are exactly the person we are looking for. We can offer a daily life with great responsibility and flexibility – and the best colleagues.

We have two positions to fill – one in Næstved and one in Ballerup. Your application can be directed at one of the positions or both.

Data Consultant

As a data consultant in the Prehospital Care you will have access to a unique data foundation about the prehospital intervention. You will work with data from 1-1-2 calls, ambulance rides, emergency medical vehicles, patient transports, on-call doctors and other parts of the acute health care system. Every day thousands of data points are created about citizen contacts, dispositions, response times, patient pathways, travel patterns and resource use. Data is used for everything from daily operations management and capacity planning to quality development, research and strategic decisions.

Your tasks will be diverse within the data area, and with us you will have the opportunity to make a difference where it matters most, both through your data expertise and your contribution to stable and professional operations and management information.

You will extract knowledge from the large data sets that the Prehospital Care possesses. Data is currently available on the two existing organization's data platforms, i.e. the Prehospital Center in Næstved in Region Zealand and the Acute Medical Service in Ballerup in Region The Capital. You will help transition from the regions' current data platforms to a new common solution in the Region of East Denmark.

You will among other things have the opportunity to work with

  • Programming in SAS, SQL, Python or DAX
  • Cleansing, handling and validating data and ensuring data quality
  • Development and maintenance of operational and management information in BI tools such as Power BI or SAS Visual Analytics
  • Translating complex data into easy-to-understand analyses and decision bases for everything from operations management and executive board to public records, political inquiries and press requests
  • Collaboration with operating units such as the AMK-Dispatch Center and 1813/1818, other staff and IT to translate data from the digital systems that support the prehospital care into knowledge and a basis for decisions
  • Automation of operational tasks with e.g. RPA or solutions from Microsoft Power Platform to create stable and efficient workflows
  • Microsoft Azure and related tools such as Databricks, Data Factory and GitHub

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have an interest in data, analyses and automation and are motivated by creating insights that can support decisions and development. You may have several years of experience with data work, but you can also be a recent graduate with a desire to learn. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the health sector and very much so of the prehospital area.

For both positions we imagine that you as a starting point have a relevant education. For example, a master's degree in statistics, data science, economics, social sciences or public health, but you may also have another background if you have relevant practical experience.

For both positions we expect that you

  • Can translate data into understandable insights and decision bases as well as communicate what the data shows and what limitations exist in the data foundation
  • Work systematically with a focus on data quality and be willing to work with large data sets and complex data contexts
  • Thrive in collaborating across operations, staff and IT and be able to communicate with different professional backgrounds
  • Have experience with or interest in tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI or Azure and a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Have an eye for how data, digitization and automation can create value and support the business
  • Be proactive, take responsibility for following up tasks to the end and thrive with varying tasks and sometimes tight deadlines
  • Contribute with good collegial spirit with a positive and welcoming approach
