About the job

Are you passionate about creating strong learning communities, and do you want to make a difference for children both academically and personally? Then it may be you we are looking for.

A skilled and academically well-founded mathematics teacher – preferably with either music or science and technology in your background. You should also be willing to take on the role of contact teacher in the primary years.

At our school we believe the best solutions are created in collaboration. Therefore we seek a colleague who thrives in close cooperation with others, and who sees academic and personal development as something reinforced through dialogue, sparring and shared reflection. With us there is room for both ambition, humor and care, and we emphasise a working environment characterised by trust, engagement and good collegiality.

We are looking for a teacher who

  • Has high professional ambitions for themselves and for their students.
  • Meets the students with recognition, humor and positive expectations.
  • Is proactive, development-oriented and actively contributes to professional collaboration.
  • Is empathetic, present and caring in interactions with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and can build good relationships with the school’s many partners.
  • Sees the value in involving both student and parent perspectives in everyday school life.
  • Wants to help develop a school where community, learning and well-being go hand in hand.

We offer a workplace with engaged colleagues, strong communities and good opportunities for both professional and personal development. With us you will become part of a school where we pull together and have ambitions for all children.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the local pay formation agreement.

About Balleskolen

Balleskolen is centrally located in Balle in the northwest part of Silkeborg, about two kilometres northwest of Silkeborg's city centre.

Balleskolen is a three-track school with just over 650 students distributed across grades 0-9 with accompanying SFO and club. The school has about 75 ambitious and professionally skilled staff. In the coming years the number of students at Balleskolen will grow significantly, and the school's physical facilities must be geared to accommodate the many new children. The school will eventually be four-stream in the lower and middle years and three-stream in the upper years.

Balleskolen is built as an open-plan school, where classes across year groups work closely together and where students are often in mixed-ability groups in teaching. This organisation provides some exciting pedagogical and didactic opportunities. You plan and execute your teaching in close collaboration with your colleagues, and it is our experience that close collaboration strengthens both security and quality for students and teachers.

The school has good outdoor and indoor areas which are naturally used after-school hours by the area's children and adults.

The school is part of a nationwide project on character formation. Character formation is one of the things the well-being commission points to in their report on strengthening the well-being of children and young people, and we see it as an important element in the daily pedagogical work for everyone at the school.
