About the job

Are you a nurse and are you motivated by giving young adult psychiatric patients a positive admission and diagnostic process, then you are the one we are looking for!

Does the goal of working with young adults, collaborating and respectful dialogue with welcoming patients and a low level of conflict mean something to you? And would you like to help our patients move well forward after they have been given a diagnosis?

So now is your opportunity to apply for our only vacant position at the open 24/7 ward 2421 in Hillerød.

Welcome aboard with us

On ward 2421 we offer assessment, diagnostic clarification and high-quality treatment for younger adults, predominantly with conditions within the affective or schizophrenic spectrum. Our patients can be between 18 and 35 years old, most are typically between 18 and 25 years. They are often patients with first or few contacts with psychiatry, or young people who are in outpatient OPUS programs. Other of our patients have had previous courses in the B&U regime. Our patients are typically voluntarily admitted, motivated for and desires of admission.

We place emphasis on early intervention in a structured environment, where the individual patient has a shared responsibility for participation in the treatment program, including being motivated to work on their own issues individually and in groups. We work across disciplines within a cognitive milieu-therapeutic framework and we have close collaboration with the center's Opus unit.

Who will you work with?

We are a mixed staff group with many years of experience in the psychiatric specialty. We have several colleagues with experience from somatics, social enterprises and child and adolescent psychiatry. Interdisciplinarily we are represented by an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker and recovery mentor. Together our competencies cover a broad area, which we benefit from in daily practice.

Our annual development day is used for professional input to inspire our everyday work. We continuously and purposefully work with changes that raise the quality of our work and are aligned with patient needs.

Your area of responsibility and tasks

You will hold the role as the contact person for several patients and help ensure that the patient experiences coordinated efforts as well as security, quality and continuity during the admission. You should be attentive to family involvement and inclusion of relatives throughout the admission process according to the patient’s wishes and needs. As the contact person, relationship-building is highly prioritized; for the last 7 years we have therefore worked with Resonance, where patients themselves choose their contact persons.

You also work with

  • Observation of the patient’s mental and physical condition and ongoing assessment of the effect/side effects of medical treatment
  • Supportive daily conversations
  • Initiate and adjust nursing interventions, activities, CBT interventions, milieu therapy and pedagogical interventions and documentation thereof
  • Follow-up on social problems in collaboration with the ward’s social worker, chief physician and other relevant partners

In addition we emphasize that you

  • Have experience in facilitating group teaching, e.g., psychoeducation, CBT
  • Or wish to develop competencies within the above
  • Have an eye for and wish to support patients’ own resources during the process
  • Help patients articulate hope, goals and dreams and support them to reach them

Why should you apply to work with us?

We look forward to welcoming you to the team, where you become part of a professionally engaged and experienced staff group. We focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and there is time for relationship-building. You will experience a good working environment and a positive atmosphere.

You will get a job with challenges and opportunities, and we will of course ensure you are well prepared for the job. Therefore we tailor your introduction to the ward and patient group based on your competencies and experience, just as you will be assigned a mentor.

In addition we offer all our employees professional development in the form of

  • Mandatory courses for new employees in psychiatry, Good on the road in psychiatry, conflict management
  • Ongoing offers of psychophysiological training and other education for staff and patients
  • Courses, theme days and training such as the Specialist Training in Psychiatric Nursing and training in cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Weekly supervision in the ward and development days for the entire ward

Salary and terms of employment

We wish you to start on January 1, 2027 or February 1, 2027.

You will be employed in accordance with the collective agreement for non-management staff in the Sundhedskartellet area. You are during employment covered by the current working hours agreement concluded between the Regions’ Payroll and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses’ Council.

The ward is open around the clock, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the working hours rules in the collective agreement.

The position is in principle 37 hours per week with weekend shifts every 2nd or 3rd weekend. If you would like a different number of hours, call and ask about the possibilities.
