Apply for the job now

Are you passionate about the dementia field, professional development and creating security and quality of life for people with dementia?

We are looking for an engaged dementia-specialist staff member , whether you are a nurse, care assistant, social and health care helper or pedagogue, as long as you want to make a difference for people with dementia, their relatives and the colleagues who provide care and support every day.

As a dementia-specialist staff member you will be an important professional resource in our special housing. You should be close to practice and to the citizens, and help develop, maintain and convey the high dementia-specific quality.

We are therefore looking for someone who is professionally curious, good at relationships and who wants to lead by example, while you manage to involve others.

About the position

As a dementia-specialist staff member you have a special function, but you are also part of daily life in the special housing. We believe the best professional development happens close to the citizens and in collaboration with the staff who know them.

You will therefore actively participate in care and nursing, especially when a citizen's behavior or well-being changes, and there is a need for professional observation, reflection and new approaches.

You will also become a resource person, sparring partner and role model for your colleagues.

Your main tasks

You should among other things

  • actively contribute to care and nursing for people with dementia
  • take initiative when a citizen's behavior changes from the habituated
  • work preventively with well-being and with understanding and preventing behavior that can be difficult to understand
  • support colleagues' professional reflection on their own practice and approach
  • provide practice-oriented sparring and guidance
  • guide colleagues in relationship-building and person-centered care
  • teach and convey knowledge about, among other things, dementia diseases, symptoms, person-centered care, use of power and social-pedagogical methods
  • keep focus on and evaluate the social-pedagogical practice
  • take initiative for professional and ethical discussions about dementia care, dignity and self-determination
  • contribute to the work of reducing the use of antipsychotic medication
  • share responsibility for follow-up on well-being analyses, social-pedagogical action plans and power applications
  • participate in the work around a good move-in
  • contribute to a good and trusting collaboration with relatives, also when conversations are difficult
  • participate in relevant resident conferences, house meetings and other professional meetings
  • participate in networks, theme days, development projects and collaboration meetings in the dementia field
  • cooperate and share knowledge across special housing

You must also help translate the municipality's dementia strategy and initiatives into concrete everyday practice.

We imagine that you

Have solid practical experience with care for people with dementia and have a strong interest in the specialized field.

It is important that you work from a recognizing, person-centered and dignified approach , where the individual life story, wishes, resources and needs are the starting point for the efforts.

Professionally you either have or should have knowledge of among other things

  • dementia diseases, symptoms and development
  • the brain's cognitive functions
  • person-centered care and the dignity model
  • ABC Dementia
  • social-pedagogical methods and tools
  • power use
  • rules on coercion in the somatic treatment of permanently legally incompetent patients
  • cooperation with relatives and the difficult conversation
  • Marte Meo
  • reflection tools in the dementia field.

A diploma program in dementia as well as having completed ABC Dementia will be a significant professional qualification; if you do not have the qualification, you should be willing to take it.

As a person we place emphasis on

  • meeting citizens, relatives and colleagues with respect and curiosity
  • being able to create followership rather than simply offering solutions
  • dare to be professionally curious and ask good questions
  • being able to create understanding for complex problems through professional analysis, dialogue and testing
  • having an eye for both the citizen's and colleagues' perspectives
  • being able to convey professional knowledge in a present and practice-oriented way
  • taking responsibility and initiative
  • being good at collaborating across professional groups and areas
  • wanting both to learn from you and actively seek new knowledge and sparring
  • being a positive role model for the dementia professional effort.

We offer

In return you will get a position with the opportunity to have real influence on the dementia-professional practice.

You will become part of an environment where we want to be curious together and develop our professionalism close to the citizen.

You will have the opportunity to

  • work purposefully with a professional area you are passionate about
  • help set the direction for the dementia-professional initiative
  • close professional sparring with colleagues and other dementia professionals
  • participation in relevant networks, theme days and development programs
  • actively bring your specialist knowledge into play
  • contribute to development projects across special housing
  • ongoing professional development and opportunity to seek new knowledge.
  • You will be coordinated in the weekend and participate where it makes sense for staff and citizens

The most important thing for us

We are not only looking for a staff member with the right professional knowledge.

We seek a colleague who is passionate about people with dementia and who wants to bring their professionalism to life in everyday life.

A colleague who together with the rest of the house can be curious about the question

What is the citizen trying to tell us, and what can we do differently to create more security, well-being and quality of life?

It is precisely in the shared reflection and in the practice-oriented learning that we believe we can make the biggest difference.

If you would like to hear more about the position, you are very welcome to contact center leader Birgitte Gert at telephone 29 37 20 90.

We look forward to hearing from you.
