Plejehjemmet Tinghøj in Hammel is a specialized home for residents with moderate to severe dementia. We have 40 apartments spread over 6 small living environments, as well as a 'Forsamlingshus' (community hall) that provides a framework for social activities and events.

As a social and health care helper at Tinghøj you will participate in the comprehensive care of our residents with dementia, both in terms of basic health-care tasks and social-pedagogical activities. You will, together with your colleagues, be responsible for the daily professional effort for the resident including documentation, medicines, social-pedagogical action plans and contact with relatives.

About working life with us

At Tinghøj there is a multidisciplinary work community consisting of social and health care assistants (SSH), social and health care workers (SSA), basic nurses, pedagogues and a community nurse. We are a good mix of both newer and very experienced staff. We use humor in daily life and laugh together, take care of each other and say things as they are with integrity.

Our core task is to create a dignified, safe and meaningful existence for our residents. We work with person-centered care and always try to meet the residents’ individual needs and adjust the day accordingly. We are organized in three fixed teams. The different teams work with high professionality and ensure that tasks for the day are distributed and planned. Many decisions are made by the individual employee close to the residents.

We offer a workplace where you have influence, varied tasks and a changing daily life. No two days are the same when you work with dementia-affected people. Daily professional sparring takes place in close collaboration with our dementia coordinator, the center nurse, management, dementia consultants, therapists and other internal partners. We hold regular team meetings and resident conferences as well as supervision. Occasionally we also participate in VISO advisory processes.

Last year we underwent a program with the dementia travel team where we focused on person-centered care, self-determination, involvement of relatives, perspective shift as a professional method, and well-being from a double perspective.

This is a permanent full-time position – or part-time by your own wish. Expected working hours include a mix of evening and day shifts (call for more information). In addition, four weekends over 12 weeks, or every other weekend – if you would like this yourself.
