-Then you should apply for this exciting position at the Defence Command's section for cyber and information security.
About us
We are the Defence Command's professional unit for information security and data protection. We support the operational task solving by translating strategic requirements into robust security measures that strengthen the Defence's freedom of action and resilience.
The section works across authorities and capabilities and contributes to the Defence being able to plan and carry out activities securely, effectively and in accordance with applicable rules.
We offer a central role in an organization of high societal importance and a professionally professional environment, with engaged colleagues and cross-cutting collaboration.
With us, there is the possibility of flexible working conditions and good opportunities for skill development.
The position
As deputy head of the Defence Command's section for cyber and information security, you will be one of the most important drivers in strengthening the foundation for Denmark's military capability in cyberspace. You will be close to the decisions that shape the direction of how we protect missions, people and the state’s interests in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
You will have responsibility for both leadership, operations assurance and development – and you must be able to move effortlessly between strategy and concrete execution.
Leadership and governance responsibilities
- Lead and develop a strong professional environment within information security and data protection.
- Support the CISO with overview, direction and quality in the section's overall deliverables.
- Establish fixed rhythms for prioritization, follow-up and evaluative learning.
- Ensure a culture of professional pride, sense of responsibility and cross-collaboration.
Strategic operationalization
- Translate strategic goals into solid processes and decision bases that can be applied in practice.
- Further develop governance models and create anchoring throughout the Defence structure.
- Support senior managers with advice, scenarios and impact assessments.
- Identify opportunities and risks early and translate them into action.
Deliverables and implementation
- Ensure strong handling of incidents, risks and compliance – without the section being pulled into operations.
- Drive data-supported governance and ensure visible value of the effort.
- Contribute to professional integration between military security, information security and IT security.
- Prepare the organization for future coverage needs and capacity building.
Relationships and collaboration
- Create buy-in among many stakeholders in a large group with differing culture and pace.
- Be a clear representative in internal and external fora – national and international.
- Work at the intersection of operations, policy and governance with situational awareness and impact.
About you
You see the whole picture – and take responsibility for it.
You have a Master’s degree and preferably experience with information security and leadership in larger organizations. If you have an understanding of military conditions and authority responsibilities, that is an advantage.
You thrive when things are important and complex – and you create calm and direction around you.
You are characterized by
- Ability to connect strategy and execution in one integrated picture
- Clear communication and strong relational understanding
- Ambition for the organization to succeed – not only your own field
You will be where it makes a real difference for Denmark’s security.
Terms of employment
Employment is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).
Depending on your qualifications and skills, there is potential for negotiation of a supplement. The position includes an employer-funded pension scheme.
The workplace is Kastellet, Copenhagen. You should expect to occasionally work from Karup Air Base, where parts of the section are located.
As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.
As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace support, humanitarian and other similar operations.
