About the job

In this position you will play a central role in developing and strengthening Region of Southern Denmark's Danish-German cooperation – with the opportunity to influence direction, create concrete results across the border and be part of a dedicated, collaborative team. You will have a broad portfolio of tasks close to both politicians and Danish-German cooperation partners, and together we shall bring the upcoming “Strategy for Danish-German Cooperation 2030” to fruition.

About the job When you start in the Department for Environment, Mobility and Education, Danish-German Cooperation, you will notice that your new colleagues are curious to get to know you. You will become part of a small team of four employees, all working with Danish-German cooperation in their own way. We sit physically together with the rest of the department, which in total counts 23 employees, and in everyday life we collaborate closely - both professionally and socially.

This is a versatile position where one day you will prepare agendas and background notes for regional politicians, and the next day you will drive tasks and projects that promote Danish-German cooperation. Task handling will need to take place in close interaction with colleagues in the team. In addition, you will also handle tasks related to the South Danish EU Office.

You will, among other things, be

  • Contribute to implementing the upcoming “Strategy for Danish-German Cooperation 2030”.
  • Contribute to the political support of the Committee for Environment, Mobility and Education as well as the Special Advisory Committee on Danish-German Cooperation.
  • Receive an important supporting, developmental and follow-up role in Region Southern Denmark's cooperation with, among others, the state government in Schleswig-Holstein and other parties across the Danish-German border.
  • Support the implementation of the new Interreg program 7A.
  • Be the team's focal point for updating and maintaining communication regarding Danish-German cooperation on the region's website.
  • Handle tasks related to the interaction with the South Danish EU Office in Brussels, which Region Southern Denmark funds in collaboration with the South Danish municipalities.

Although the above tasks are central, you must be prepared that Region Southern Denmark is a politically led organization where tasks can continuously change in line with political wishes and priorities.

Profile We would like you to have

  • A relevant higher education degree and experience.
  • A sharp analytical mind and ability to work independently with the tasks.
  • Flair for working in a politically governed organization and the ability to communicate clearly and simply.
  • Strong collaboration skills – both in an ambitious professional environment and in interaction with external stakeholders and colleagues across departments, as well as the courage to challenge and contribute ideas.
  • Interest in or knowledge of Danish-German cooperation and political and administrative structures north and south of the border.
  • Experience in planning, facilitating and ensuring progress in development projects and initiatives. You are able to pull the threads together in a structured form and communicate clearly and simply, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of or experience with EU funds, for example the Interreg program.
  • It is an advantage to have German language skills, so you can handle both oral dialogue and written material in both Danish and German.

If you have gained your first experiences in the labor market, we would also like to hear from you.

We offer We offer an exciting position with many different tasks and contact interfaces. We are a workplace with an informal tone and good collegial cohesion, where collaboration, experience exchange and a strong professional environment are in focus.

We strive to be an organization where there is room for the whole person. In daily life we focus on making work and private life function. Therefore we offer a high degree of flexibility, where you largely design your own tasks. There is the possibility of remote work two days a week when the tasks permit. The daily workplace will be at the Regionshuset in Vejle about a 10-minute walk from the train station, but some travel to the border region should be expected.

The position is a full-time position.
