Digitisation Operator for the National Archives in Viborg

StudentConsulting is seeking on behalf of the National Archives a digitization operator for a 6-month temporary position with start as soon as possible and no later than December 1 . For the right candidate there is a possibility of extension.

Be part of preserving history

At the National Archives in Viborg, work is done every day to preserve and make historical archives accessible for future generations. You will join the department that digitizes everything from documents hundreds of years old to more recent journal material.

As a digitization operator, your main task is to transform physical archives into high-quality digital images. The work requires focus, precision and the ability to work efficiently throughout the day.

Your tasks

• Digitization of archives via scanners or camera stations
• Handling and transport of archives using carrier trolleys
• Self-check and light image editing before quality assurance
• Ongoing feedback on the quality of your work
• Ensuring high quality while maintaining a high production pace

The work takes place at different types of workstations, and you will continuously rotate between tasks.

Your daily life

A typical workday starts with you collecting the day's archives and preparing your workstation. Thereafter you work concentratively with digitization, quality control and recording of your work.

The position is characterized by routine tasks, so it is important that you can maintain focus for extended periods.

• Are used to using computers, file management and the Office suite
• Have knowledge of image editing programs
• Work quickly and accurately without compromising quality

Your educational background is not decisive. The team today consists of employees with very different backgrounds.

Practical information

• Employment: 6-month temporary position through StudentConsulting with the possibility of extension
• Start: as soon as possible, no later than December 1
• Working hours: 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday between 06.00-17.00. There will be a 30-minute paid lunch break
• Workplace: National Archives, Lille Sankt Hans Gade 5, 8800 Viborg
