In Ungehuset we believe that all young people should have a real opportunity to become part of the labor market, the education system and other communities. It requires a holistic approach, where employment, education, social conditions and health are considered together, so that the individual young person receives the support that matches their needs and potential.

One of our skilled colleagues is going on maternity leave, and we are therefore seeking a social worker or social mediator for a maternity leave position, who will help support the above. The position is 37 hours per week with start on February 1, 2027.

You will become part of a professionally strong team, where you have the opportunity to influence the development of the support for young people at a time when the employment field is undergoing change. Together we shall implement the new employment legislation, which supports each young person’s path toward education, employment and self-sufficiency.

About the job

You will primarily work as a caseworker for young people aged 18 to 30 who need a holistic approach with the aim of getting closer to education or employment. There may also be case handling for young people aged 15 to 17 who are not in education or employment. Through an individual and coordinated effort you support the young person’s progression and collaborate with relevant actors to create coherent pathways.

As part of Ungehuset you will play a central role in implementing the new employment legislation. Together with colleagues and partners you translate the new framework into concrete solutions that take the individual young person’s resources, needs and goals as the starting point.

Ungehuset is part of Brøndby Municipality’s Employment Center, where we work closely with the Municipal Youth Initiative (KUI) and other relevant partners.

Your tasks

You will, among other things, work with

• To plan, coordinate and follow up on individual pathways for young people aged 18 to 30 who are recipients of cash benefits. These are citizens with complex challenges, including mental and/or physical diagnoses, social challenges in the form of substance abuse, homelessness, and similar.
• To motivate and guide young people toward education, employment or other relevant initiatives.
• To document and record interventions as well as prepare relevant plans and decisions.
• To work closely with KUI, mentors, educational institutions, businesses, other municipal partners, psychiatry, addiction treatment, etc.
• To coordinate cross-disciplinary efforts with a focus on holistic solutions.
• To actively contribute to the development of our professional practice and workflows.
• To support the implementation of the new employment legislation and translate the legislative intentions into practice.

• Is educated as a social worker or a social mediator.
• Has experience from the employment sector – preferably with youth.
• Has an understanding that documentation is a large and important part of the authority’s task and contributes to citizens’ legal protection.
