About the job

Do you have calm, patience and a desire to be a present adult in a 12-year-old boy's life? Can you see the value in both shared games, quiet moments and time to build trust? Then perhaps it is you we are looking for.

The boy is 12 years old and lives with his family. He is diagnosed with autism and OCD and needs an adult who can meet him with understanding, openness and respect for his pace. Relationship is the keyword here – it takes time to build, but the whole effort is worth it.

He loves being creative and playing games – from board games to Nintendo. Sometimes he wants you to participate actively in the games, other times he mostly needs you to sit beside him, perhaps watch and talk to him about what he is focused on and otherwise just be present in the vicinity. When the weather is nice, he also enjoys going out, playing a bit of football and being physically active – he is age-appropriate in his interests and curious about the world around him.

You will become an important adult who can help create safe surroundings, read his signals and accommodate both needs and feelings. Someone who understands that relationships take time, and who wants to be part of that process.
