About the job

Would you like to be part of a department with high professionalism, diverse tasks and a daily life where two days are rarely the same? Do you thrive working in a changing environment where it requires an overview, decisiveness and the ability to prioritise to make the tasks add up? Then it might be you we are looking for. We are seeking a engaged and proactive medical secretary/healthcare administrative coordinator who can navigate confidently in a busy daily life, handle several tasks simultaneously and keep an overview, even when priorities change.

The position is to be filled by 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible and is 37 hours per week.

About us You will become part of the Surgical Administration, where we handle the healthcare administrative tasks for the specialties of gastrointestinal surgery, urological surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, breast surgery and oncology.

We have a broad portfolio of tasks and a daily life characterized by both fixed operational tasks, coordination and ongoing adjustments. This requires our ability to collaborate, prioritise and find solutions – also when the pace is high. In return, you get good opportunities for professional and personal development as well as influence over your own tasks and areas of responsibility.

We work in EPJ SYD, where workflows, systems and patient rights continuously evolve. It requires that we are adaptable and keen to learn new things and translate changes into well-functioning practice.

You will be part of a professionally strong team of 25 medical secretaries, healthcare administrative coordinators and nurses. We work purposefully with quality in task execution, good collegial cooperation and the patient at the center.

As a university hospital we prioritise education and competence development highly. We have, among other things, two students regularly attached to the department, and we see knowledge sharing and learning as a natural part of our daily life.

We offer

  • A department where professionalism and collaboration are in the foreground, to the benefit of the patient
  • Engaged, experienced and helpful colleagues with high work ethic and humor
  • An exciting and dynamic specialty where you become part of a multidisciplinary collaboration
  • A good collegial camaraderie based on safety, community and respect
  • Influence in planning of work and holidays
  • Thorough introduction and structured training tailored to your competencies

We expect that you

  • You must be educated medical secretary or healthcare administrative coordinator (SAK)
  • Are professionally well-founded, service-minded and reliable in attendance
  • Have experience with and interest in working in EPJ SYD, including booking, coding and control tasks
  • Have a flexible, proactive and positive approach to your tasks
  • Can participate in a multidisciplinary collaboration with a focus on the patient
  • Want to contribute positively to the working environment and value good collegiality
  • Thrive in a daily life with changes and many balls in the air.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Telephone contact with patients, relatives, as well as internal and external partners
  • Booking, procedure registration, care pathway markers and handling of controls
  • Mail handling and correspondence
  • Writing journal notes and follow-up on speech recognition
  • Various administrative tasks

Further information We look forward to hearing from you and receiving your application no later than 11 November 2026.

Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis.

For more information about the position you can obtain from the healthcare administrative manager Hanne Lykke Kristensen at phone 21 64 74 34 .
