UngeVejen is seeking a mentor, § 85 support person and instructor for UngeBasen.

We are looking for an engaged, robust and professionally grounded colleague for a versatile position where you will work with young people aged 18–29. The position combines:

• Mentor function under the Danish Act on an Active Employment Effort
• Social-pedagogical support under the Social Services Act § 85
• Teaching, group programs and physical training in UngeBasen

UngeBasen is UngeVejen’s internal offer for young people who are currently further away from education or the labor market, and who need support to take the next step toward education, employment, paid hours or other meaningful communities.

About the job

As a colleague in UngeVejen you will play a central role in supporting young people toward more structure, motivation and progression in their daily lives. You will work on translating goals and plans into concrete steps that make sense for the individual young person.

Your daily work will vary between individual programs, social-pedagogical support, mentor assignments and teaching in UngeBasen.

You will also be co-developer of content, methods and activities, so the offering matches the needs of the young people and UngeVejen’s core mission.

This is a role with great variation, where relationships, clarity and professionalism are crucial. You must be able to work independently and in a structured way, but also thrive in close collaboration with colleagues, youth service advisors, educational counselors, business consultants and external partners.

Your tasks will include, among others

• Managing mentor programs for young people who need special support and close follow-up
• Providing social-pedagogical support under § 85 of the Social Services Act with a focus on structure, mastery and progression
• Supporting young people to reliably show up and keep appointments, education, internships, jobs or other activities
• Working on motivation, mastery strategies, independence and responsibility for one's own life
• Planning, developing and delivering teaching and group programs in UngeBasen
• Facilitating group programs focusing on, for example, everyday mastery, educational direction, job-oriented skills, well-being, networks and community
• Working closely with relevant professionals and actors around the young person
• Documenting the effort and following up on goals, sub-goals and development
• Overseeing physical training (currently gym 2 times per week)
• Contributing to the ongoing development of UngeBasen and UngeVejen’s overall youth initiative

We are looking for you who

• Have experience with young people in vulnerable positions
• Have experience with mentoring and/or social-pedagogical support under § 85
• Are a secure and experienced communicator who can teach and facilitate group programs
• Can create trusting relationships with clarity, warmth and acknowledgment
• Understand young people with complex challenges, e.g. mental vulnerability, diagnoses, social difficulties or lack of attachment to education and the labor market
• Can translate plans and goals into manageable actions together with the young person
• Have an eye for progression, documentation and quality
• Work independently, but also actively contribute to cross-disciplinary collaboration
• Have a creative mindset and a desire to develop new programs and use existing methods in new ways
• Are flexible, adaptable and ready for a day where tasks may change
• Are familiar with IT as a working tool
• Have a driving license. Owning a car is not required, as we have municipal cars

It would be an advantage if you have a pedagogical, social-scientific or another relevant educational background.

UngeVejen is part of the Center for Employment in Faxe Municipality. We work holistically and cross-disciplinary with young people who need support to progress in education, work or other binding communities.

Salary and terms of employment

This is a permanent position of 37 hours per week.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn agreement.
