About the job

Would you like to be part of an interdisciplinary team that every day – year round – collaborates intensively to help people to live the life they want again? Does it matter that you have a varied daily life, supported by a listening leadership that focuses on your well-being and professional development?

Center for Rehabilitation and Acute Care – Copenhagen is seeking, for the department of acute care, an experienced occupational therapist 37 hours per week.

About us

We have a total of 30 beds and many skilled interdisciplinary staff. The citizens who come to us come for various reasons, but the majority come directly from the hospitals. Many have complex and chronic diseases, and a large part of the citizens need both acute care and intensive rehabilitation. When the citizens come to us, we examine them immediately. Almost simultaneously we start giving them exactly the care and rehabilitation they need, so they can recover quickly and regain lost skills or develop new strategies.

Working successfully with such individually tailored acute care requires a high level of professional competence from everyone involved. It also requires close collaboration with citizens and their relatives and interdisciplinary cooperation between social- and healthcare assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors, hospitals, home care, etc.

About you

You are an occupational therapist who enjoys a daily life where days are not the same. We expect you to contribute with your high professional expertise to the interdisciplinary collaboration. It is preferable that you have experience with dysphagia. You are willing to work some holidays and participate in the department's teaching and development.

In the job as an occupational therapist with us you will experience that

  • there is a strong focus on dysphagia assessments as well as ADL assessments and trainings
  • both the ICF model (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) and clinical reasoning are central tools in daily work
  • you must set goals for the course so we can daily weigh whether a citizen can be at home or needs a longer stay
  • the training you are responsible for is often individualized and therefore highly targeted to the individual citizen
  • we expect you to stand by your professional assessment, but also that you are willing to discuss cases factually, professionally and calmly if someone has a different view.

You will receive a thorough introduction so you feel well prepared to handle the various tasks involved in the position. Read more about our workplace here

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with qualifications and the applicable collective agreement between the municipality and the relevant professional organization. The working hours are 37 hours per week. There will also be coverage of holidays. We want the position filled on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The place of employment is the acute care unit at Vigerslevvej.

If you have previously been employed by the City of Copenhagen, also apply

If you are considered for a position at a municipal unit, we will check whether you have been dismissed or expelled from the municipality within the last three years and share relevant information with the hiring manager. It may also be information about criminal offenses that led to dismissal or expulsion from the City of Copenhagen, information about misuse of intoxicants such as a positive alcohol test or information about medical history that may be significant for a new employment in the municipality. This does not apply to employment at a self-owned nursing home. Read more about reference checks here.
