Education-Responsible Midwives Wanted for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gødstrup Regional Hospital

Are you a dedicated midwife with a passion for both education and the midwifery profession?

We have three positions as Education Lead Midwife available for appointment from January 1, 2027.

The positions are full-time combined roles with 25 hours/week allocated to education tasks, and the remaining 12 hours/week in a clinical function in the delivery ward, maternity ward, clinic, mobile midwife, acute clinic or other clinical work.

As Education Lead Midwives, you will be part of a central team in our department with the responsibility to plan, coordinate and oversee the students’ education based on the applicable study regulations, thereby ensuring support for the connection between the theoretical and clinical parts.

It is the department’s goal to offer education of high professional and pedagogical quality, in a safe, well-organized and developing learning environment for both students and supervisors. We have study places for 18 midwifery students per semester.

Starting on January 1, there will be an overlap with your predecessors during the spring semester, providing an opportunity for an introduction to the tasks. Hours not used in the role as Education Lead Midwife during this period will be included in the department’s overall shift planning, ensuring a smooth transition to the position. Individually, we will plan how this transition will take place within the period 1.1. to 1.7.

The Education Lead Midwives will have offices in close relation to the delivery ward.

Professional and organizational profile

We have now been at the new hospital in Gødstrup since 2022, and we enjoy our new, impressive premises in the “Family Cluster” with around 3100 deliveries:

• Delivery ward, acute clinic and maternity ward are located close together with a shared coffee room
• Delivery ward and OR are right next to each other
• All 8 delivery rooms are designed as interactive delivery rooms with local natural noises from our 6 municipalities, and with the possibility to play the individual parents’ music
• All maternity rooms are equipped with a double bed (can be separated in an acute situation)
• Midwifery consultations, family outpatient clinic and the clinic for pregnant women are located on the ground floor
• Our facilities boost oxytocin both during labor and in the maternity rooms for the benefit of our families, and also for us as staff. In addition, we have an excellent view and the possibility of a lovely 1-hour walk around Gødstrup Lake
• Strong collaboration with Children & Youth and the unit for sick newborns and premature infants
• NIDO is our new research unit, which provides the framework for a strong research environment at the hospital

Your tasks

• Ensure quality, continuity and coordination of the clinical education of midwifery students
• Contribute to a safe, well-organized and developing learning environment for both students and supervisors
• Ongoing supervision of students
• Conduct planned supervision interviews
• Planning and conducting clinical teaching

We expect that you

• Have solid clinical experience as a midwife and supervisor
• Have a post-qualification education in teaching/pedagogy at a minimum diploma level
• Are theoretically well-founded, possibly with a relevant master's or candidate degree or are prepared to undertake further theoretical education (cf. the function description)
• Have strong communication and presentation skills, so you can motivate and engage students and colleagues
• Are structured and capable of an independent way of working
• Are visionary, innovative and ambitious
• Are good at collaborating and building relationships across disciplines and organizational structures, including ability to see potential
• Have or are prepared to undertake simulator instructor training

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Midwives’ Association and the Danish Regions.

The region is obligated to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally determined allowances and pension in the agreement for Ergo/physio/midwives - agreement 33.21.1.

In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
