Would you like to help create meaningful educational and job pathways for young people?

In Slagelse Municipality we believe that every young person has the potential to succeed in education, employment and in communities. We are therefore looking for a committed and relationship-driven EGU consultant who can help young people progress towards education, employment and greater independence through practice-based programs and strong collaborations with companies.

As an EGU consultant, you will play a central role in bridging young people, educational institutions and the labor market. You will also be the municipality’s key person in developing strong company relationships and establishing concrete educational and employment opportunities for young people.

The EGU area is a prioritized development area in Slagelse Municipality. We see a large and still underutilized potential to create more company-led programs and engage more young people in EGU. Therefore we are seeking an EGU consultant who can support individual youths and actively contribute to the development of the area through new collaborations, strong business networks and targeted efforts.

You will be an important collaborator in the municipality’s overall effort to strengthen young people’s attachment to the labor market and create good transitions from school to education and work.

Who are we?

The Youth Unit consists of various professional groups who work closely together to create coherent interventions for young people. You will find among others educational counselors, guardianship advisors, job counselors, outreach workers and administrative staff.

You will become part of the Education Guidance team, where you will work closely with UU counselors and our two leisure job counselors. In addition we have a strong and well-functioning collaboration with FGU, which is an important partner in supporting youths on their path to education and employment.

Together we work purposefully to create more paths to education and employment for young people through, among other things

• Vocational Basic Education (EGU)
• Youth Master Apprenticeship
• Leisure job initiative

We see a large potential to align the interventions across professional areas and partners so more young people get the right opportunities, experiences and support to progress in education, employment or other relevant activities .

Your tasks

As an EGU consultant you will have a versatile role where relationship-building with young people goes hand in hand with outreach to companies and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Your main tasks will be to

• advise and support young people before, during and after an EGU program
• develop education plans and coordinate EGU programs in collaboration with youths, companies and educational institutions
• prospect, establish and develop collaborations with private and public companies
• match young people with relevant company programs, internships and educational opportunities
• follow up on programs and support well-being, progression and retention
• engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration with UU counselors, leisure job counselors, FGU and other partners
• contribute to the development of the EGU area as well as documentation, follow-up and work in relevant system platforms

• have experience with youths and guidance-, education- or employment-oriented initiatives
• have experience with outreach to companies and can establish trustful collaborations with private and public companies

• have an eye for each individual youth’s resources, motivation and development potential

Practical information

It is a condition that you have a driver's license and can provide your own car. Travel by own car is reimbursed according to the state’s always-current low travel rate.

The position is desired to start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and terms of employment are set according to the applicable collective agreement and based on the applicant’s experience, competencies and educational background.

The expected salary range is roughly between DKK 35,500 and 45,000 per month.

The specific salary placement will depend on the individual applicant’s qualifications, experience and collective-bargaining placement .
