Educator/Pedagogical Assistant for the Søstjernen Special Kindergarten

Specialgruppen Søstjernen is seeking a qualified pedagogue or a pedagogical assistant for permanent employment.

Specialgruppen Søstjernen is a special needs day care center under the Child Welfare Act § 83 for children aged 0-6 years with lasting physical and/or mental disabilities, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, FAS, intellectual disability, neglect and other disabilities. Specialgruppen Søstjernen is the most specialized offering for children aged 0-6 years in Jammerbugt Municipality, and therefore covers a broad range of the children’s issues.

The group is staffed for 8 children and at times there may be fewer or more children admitted, as we receive referrals throughout the year. The staff consists of 5 experienced pedagogues and a department manager.

Our professional focus is always a holistic approach to the individual child, so we ensure the best conditions for the child’s wellbeing, development and learning. This takes place in close cooperation with parents/foster parents. We also have a close interdisciplinary collaboration with PPR and our physiotherapist, who regularly comes to make observations, provide staff with sparring and test the children as needed. Other collaborators include the family department, the special unit, psychiatry, other municipalities, and more.

We are looking for a pedagogue or a pedagogical assistant who

• would preferably have special education competencies or an interest in the area of special education.
• has a calm nervous system and a positive view of children, as well as the ability to adjust practice to what the children need.
• has good collaboration skills that support the whole staff group to function as a team.
• places high importance on parent cooperation, involves it and supports it as an important resource in relation to the child’s wellbeing and development.
• has good overview, takes responsibility and adjusts oneself so that resources yield the greatest possible benefit for the children’s learning environment on the individual day.
• has a flair for IT and AULA.
• is reliable and able to balance work and private life.
• asks for help and feedback and seeks sparring from both colleagues and the department head.
• is professionally curious about existing practices with integration of their own competences.

• We are seeking a pedagogue or a pedagogical assistant for a permanent position of 37 hours per week - with the possibility to discuss the number of hours.
• Employment from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
• Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
