English teacher at Northeast Amager School

Do you want to inspire the students to use English and have the courage to try things out?

At Nordøstamager School we are looking for a colleague who will create engaging English lessons for 5th, 6th and 7th grade and be part of a close collaboration on the students' learning and well-being.

Your teaching and your team

The position is full-time, and your timetable mainly consists of English. In addition, it includes two elective lessons and two biology lessons in 7th grade. For us, academic rigour, formation, and community go hand in hand. We work to ensure that all students can participate and feel that they belong. As an English teacher you will have an important task in creating teaching where students with different prerequisites can develop and gain confidence in their own abilities.

You will become part of our year-group teams with weekly team meetings and allocated time for joint preparation. We have clear common goals and a professional culture of collaboration, where we develop the pedagogical practice together.

We are looking for you who

• have a solid professional foundation in English and can translate it into teaching that awakens students' curiosity
• are good at building relationships and a safe learning environment where students dare to participate
• contribute to a trusting collaboration with parents, colleagues and management
• work in a structured and thorough manner and want to be part of developing a school that continues to grow.

In return, you will have engaged and competent colleagues who take both the school's tasks and collaboration with each other seriously.

A school you can help shape

Nordøstamager School opened in 2019 and today has about 450 students and 90 staff distributed across primary, lower secondary, upper secondary and KKFO. We have a strong shared story about our school and high demand among families both inside and outside the district. Our first cohort for the upper secondary years is now in 7th grade. In the coming years we will continue with 8th and 9th grade and develop the school toward around 850 students and 120 staff. This gives you the opportunity to contribute with your experiences and ideas while we together shape the school's next chapter.

Terms of employment

The position is full-time with start in December 2026, January 2027 or as soon as possible. Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local salary formation. In connection with the hire we will obtain a child and criminal record check and take references.
