Become a pedagogical assistant trainee in Holbæk Municipality with an education start in January 2027

Are you ready for an education where you alternate between classes at ZBC and on-the-job training, and where you learn through practice, activities and interacting with other people?

As a pedagogical assistant trainee you will have an active everyday life with play, movement and creativity. You will learn to plan activities and support children, young people and adults in their everyday lives.

You don't need to know everything in advance. The most important thing is that you are curious, eager to learn and willing to contribute.

About the work and the education As a pedagogical assistant trainee you plan and participate in activities that create well-being, development and good communities. You will learn to work professionally with care and relationships and to adapt your pedagogical efforts to the individual needs and prerequisites.

The education lasts 2 years and 7 weeks and alternates between school at ZBC Holbæk and on-the-job training in day care and in the specialized area.

Holbæk Municipality will arrange training sites for you. The first two training periods will be in a day nursery. The final training period can take place in the specialized area or in a school/after-school program (SFO).

The weekly working time is 37 hours. Depending on your training site, the working hours may include evening meetings as well as work in the evening, on weekends and on holidays.

You will receive a supervisor who supports you through the training periods. Your well-being and professional development are important to us. At the start of each training period we hold an introductory meeting where the goals are reviewed, so you get a good and secure start.

Tell us what you are curious about, why it interests you, and how you yourself will actively contribute to your education. We are curious about your thoughts – not about a specific answer.

Admission requirements

• You must have passed Grundforløb 2 or Grundforløb 2 EUX before the start of the education.
• You must be able to work within the training sites’ opening hours and schedules.
• You must be able to travel to training sites throughout Holbæk Municipality.

What to attach to your application

• Your motivated application with answers to the two questions above.
• A detailed CV with e.g. part-time jobs, voluntary work, completed school, other education and longer stays abroad.
• Documentation for completed or ongoing Grundforløb 2.
• If you have been on VFU (work placement), you may attach a statement from the four training days.
• Documentation of previous employment.

Salary and employment conditions Lønn is paid during the education in both school and on-the-job training periods. If you are over 25 years old, you may be eligible for adult apprentice salary or adult trainee salary if you meet the criteria.

Your opportunities after the education After completing the education you can apply for jobs in day care, in the specialized area and in after-school programs (SFO). You also have the opportunity to further educate yourself, e.g. to become a pedagog.
