You will have 25 engaged colleagues with different professional backgrounds, who work closely together to support and develop the agency's core tasks. We work, among other things, with:

You will become part of a professionally strong environment where law is a central tool. We work, among other things, with immigration law, administrative law, the Public Access to Information Act, as well as data protection and information security.

You will become part of a government agency where digitization is an important part of our everyday life. We work with new technological opportunities e.g. AI to strengthen efficient and secure task execution and create value for citizens, businesses and employees.

Your tasks

The DPO function is expected to constitute about half of the position. Here you advise management and staff on data protection and handle the tasks that belong to the function. The rest of the position includes a broad range of legal tasks across SIRI. This may include clarifying and coordinating legal practice, handling hearings, preparing legal notes and assessments, as well as legal advice and quality assurance in connection with the agency's tasks and projects.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • managing the DPO function, including advising on data protection law questions, monitoring SIRI's work to comply with data protection rules and advising in connection with impact assessments
  • advising colleagues and management on administrative law and other cross-cutting legal issues
  • handling hearings and preparing legal notes, assessments and guidelines
  • participating in projects and contributing to identifying and handling legal issues
  • contributing to developing and maintaining internal guidelines and procedures

We offer you

With us you get a role with both professional depth and variation. You get the opportunity to influence the work with data protection in SIRI, and at the same time work with a wide range of legal tasks in a government agency. In addition we offer:

  • a healthy work-life balance with flexible working conditions including the possibility of home office, where tasks permit
  • tasks with high complexity and societal impact
  • close collaboration with engaged colleagues across the agency
  • a strong collegial environment where well-being and sparring are highly valued

Emphasis on flexibility and professional development

At SIRI our tasks continuously develop. Therefore flexibility is a natural part of everyday life with us. As an employee you must be prepared for your tasks or your affiliation with a unit to change over time, and that there may be a need to rearrange internally, for example due to organizational changes or new needs in the agency. This allows us to use your competencies where they bring the greatest benefit, and the rearrangement can give you broader experience and new opportunities for professional development.

About you

You have a cand.jur. degree or an equivalent legal education. You have solid experience from a legal position and in-depth knowledge of the data protection rules. We expect you to have the professional foundation to take on the DPO function and to work independently with complex legal questions. Experience from a public authority is an advantage but not a requirement.

In addition, we expect that you

  • have a solid understanding of administrative law and public law, including the rules on access to documents
  • work thoroughly and structurally
  • have a detail-oriented and curious approach to tasks
  • can communicate legal assessments clearly and precisely
  • work independently and take responsibility for your tasks
