Experienced pedagogue for the nursery at Magdalene Haven in Sorø

Do you have experience from the nursery area, and are you passionate about creating safe, present, and developing environments for the youngest children? Then it might be you we are looking for.

In Magdalene Haven we are looking for an experienced pedagogue for our nursery, where the children are about 1½–3 years old.

We are a daycare in Sorø with both nursery and kindergarten, where we work from a shared wish to create high quality in the pedagogical practice. With us, presence, care and good relationships are central in our work with the children.

Who are we?

In Magdalene Haven we work from the starting point that all children should feel seen, heard and valuable in the community. We base our work on each child’s prerequisites and strengths and create learning environments where play, relationships, participation and the child’s perspective are central.

We focus on how we as adults can adjust our practice to support the children’s well-being, development, learning and formation.

We are looking for you who

• is a trained pedagogue and preferably has several years of experience from the nursery area
• wants to work with children aged about 1½–3 years
• meets the children with presence, care and recognition
• can create safe relationships and at the same time have an eye for each child’s development
• can see behind a child’s actions and be curious about what the child is trying to tell us
• wants to reflect on one’s own practice and actively participate in professional discussions
• can work in a structured way and create predictability for the youngest children
• sees parental collaboration as an important part of the pedagogical work
• contributes to a working environment where we support each other, help each other and share our professional knowledge
• sees value in collaborating across and contributing to the shared pedagogical work throughout the whole house.

Cross-collaboration

Even though you will be attached to one of our nursery groups, we expect you to have an eye for the whole nursery and for Magdalene Haven as a whole.

We have three nursery groups, and it is important to us that we collaborate across groups. Therefore, you should be willing to engage in close collaboration with the other two nursery groups, where we help each other, share knowledge and create coherence for the children.

At the same time, it is important that you want to collaborate with the kindergarten so that a red thread is created in the children’s daily life and smooth transitions between nursery and kindergarten.

We see cross-cutting collaboration as a strength and as an important part of our professional community. We believe that we become better together when we share our perspectives, help each other and take joint responsibility for the pedagogical task.
