At Professionshøjskolen Absalon, the Center for Leadership and Organization is looking for a colleague with solid teaching experience and a strong academic stance in leadership and organization.

Your profile

We are looking for an experienced teacher who can recognize themselves in the following

You are an experienced teacher and supervisor. You are good at creating engaging learning environments where leaders are challenged to think anew about their role and practice. You manage to connect theory and research to the challenges that leaders meet in everyday life, and you help them translate new knowledge into action.

You know the leadership task from within or through your work as a researcher, teacher or consultant, ideally in public organizations. We would like you to have experience with research, development projects or educational development, and that you actively contribute to professional sparring and development in collaboration with colleagues.

Furthermore, we expect you to have a relevant master's degree, preferably a PhD, as well as a broad theoretical foundation in leadership and organization.

Your responsibilities

As an assistant professor or associate professor you will work with continuing and further education of primarily public leaders. Your main tasks will therefore be: ?

Teaching and supervision. You teach on basic modules and selected elective modules on the Diploma Program in Leadership. Together with colleagues you develop the program's content and learning forms so that leaders can explore and practice concrete leadership situations.

Research and development. You can participate in projects on leadership and organization and contribute to specially designed programs for the region’s workplaces. We have a particular focus on how new knowledge and organizational changes are developed, implemented and anchored in welfare organizations. The tasks are assembled according to your competencies and interests as well as the center's priorities.

Your Colleagues

In the Center for Leadership and Organization you will work with 14 colleagues with different professional backgrounds, as well as a center director and a program manager. In shared professional workshops we develop teaching, projects and our professional direction. At the same time you will receive sparring and an opportunity to bring your particular expertise into play in a developing environment.

We collaborate with public organizations and Absalon’s other professional centers and are also affiliated with the journal Lederliv. You report to the program manager and will have a position at Campus Roskilde near Trekroner Station, but tasks also take place at other locations in Region Zealand.

How to apply

• Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for the state sector.
• For those who are newly graduated and employed as assistant professor, an expected starting salary would be DKK 40,994 incl. pension. For those who are an experienced teacher and employed as associate professor, an expected starting salary would be DKK 53,938 incl. pension. Depending on experience and background, there may be room for negotiation of a qualification allowance.

Appointment as assistant professor or associate professor and salary

Depending on your qualifications you will be employed as an assistant professor or as an associate professor.

At Absalon, the assistant professorship is a four-year education position with a professor qualification program and assigned supervisor. Employment as an associate professor requires a positive associate professorship assessment within the position's scope.

When hiring associate professors who were assessed as associate professors before the 2013 position structure, employment will be at the previously centrally fixed salary and employment terms. Depending on your qualifications, balanced against the specific content of the position, a renewed associate professorship assessment under the current position structure (fast-track scheme) may possibly be agreed.
