About the job

Occupational Therapist for Hvedevangen in Tornhuset

Are you focused on empowering people to master their own lives? Do you thrive on applying your occupational therapy expertise in everyday life and in close collaboration with colleagues? Then you may be the person we are looking for for a permanent position of 30-37 hours per week at Hvedevangen with employment starting 1 January 2027.

What does the work involve?

At Hvedevangen we work to create the best possible framework for citizens to live a life with as much independence, well-being and quality of life as possible.

Everyday life always takes its starting point from the individual citizen's resources, wishes and current needs. Many of our citizens are in daytime employment, both in municipal offers and private companies, and we help them maintain structure, overview and routines in daily life.

As an occupational therapist you bring your professional knowledge into both daily educational practice and interdisciplinary collaboration. You will, among other things, work with:

  • ADL and everyday mastery
  • activity adaptation
  • sensory profiles and sensory strategies
  • structure and compensatory tools
  • occupational therapy observations and assessments
  • participation and meaningful activities in daily life

A large part of the task is about translating your professional knowledge into concrete solutions that make sense for the individual citizen and can be used by the entire staff.

In addition, we expect you to contribute to documentation, professional reflection and development of our practice so that together we create the best possible interventions for the citizens.

Who are we?

Hvedevangen is a §107 residential care facility and part of Tornhuset, which is Odense Municipality's specialized autism services.

Here live 8 adults with autism. Several also have significantly reduced functional capacity and psychiatric issues such as anxiety and OCD. It requires high professionalism, clear communication and the ability to tailor your efforts to the individual.

We work from an autism-focused understanding where structure, predictability and individual considerations are crucial for the citizens' well-being and participation. Our professional foundation includes, among others, LA2, ASK, ETIKOS and an autism pedagogy approach.

We are a staff group consisting of social pedagogues, a social- and health assistant, a professional coordinator and a planner. What unites us is that we prioritize professionalism, curiosity and collaboration highly.

With us you are employed for two equally important tasks: professionalism and collaboration.

We expect you to contribute your occupational therapy knowledge and your perspectives, but also to share responsibility for the work community. We believe that the best solutions are created when different professional backgrounds are brought into play with respect for one another and the core task.

What you can expect from us

At Hvedevangen you will become part of a workplace where professionalism, collaboration and stability go hand in hand. We know that the quality of the support depends on employees having the right conditions to succeed.

Therefore we offer

  • a specialized autism-focused environment with a focus on development and quality
  • ongoing supervision and professional sparring
  • a professional coordinator who supports direction and quality in the interventions
  • a thorough introduction program so you settle into the role well
  • a planner who creates transparency and stable boundaries in the duty rota
  • colleagues who help each other and actively contribute to the community
  • a daily life where there is room for reflection, humor and different perspectives

We imagine that you

  • are curious about people and their various prerequisites
  • can translate your professional knowledge into solutions that make sense in citizens' daily lives
  • take responsibility for your tasks and see them through
  • work independently, but naturally seek collaboration with colleagues
  • can maintain an overview and create structure, even when daily life changes direction
  • are willing to ask questions, challenge professionally and contribute with your own perspectives
  • want to work within the autism field
  • have a driving license

Practical

The position is 30-37 hours per week.

The working hours are scheduled in rotating day and evening shifts, working every other weekend and on-call shifts approximately once a week.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the current collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organization. The expected salary level will be stated before a potential interview.

Start date: 1 January 2027

Application deadline: 17 November 2026

Interviews expected to be held: 19 November 2026
