About the job

We are seeking a committed and professionally strong occupational therapist for Kompetencecenter Grønnevang (KCG).

The position is for 8 hours per week and involves a central role in our interdisciplinary collaboration around children and young people with special learning prerequisites. About KCG

KCG is part of Grønnevang School and has about 100 students spread across two special class streams. One stream is for students with speech, reading and language difficulties, the other for students with general learning difficulties. KCG shares facilities with and is closely integrated with Grønnevang School’s general classes. KCG is distributed across 2 campuses divided into the 0-5 year group and the 6-9 year group.

KCG stands for a special educational practice that stems from extensive professional knowledge, experience and commitment within the areas of speech, reading and language, and within the entire special education field. Everyday life is characterized by close collaboration between the competence center's teachers, pedagogues, speech therapists and the occupational therapist, as well as close teamwork on the overall task regarding students' well-being, development and learning.

We focus on a mentalizing approach to students and colleagues and work based on co-teaching principles. We are ambitious and value interdisciplinarity highly and see different professional perspectives as a strength in the work to create the best opportunities for participation for our students. About the position

As an occupational therapist at KCG you will be part of our interdisciplinary resource group and will contribute with your professional knowledge in the work with students' learning, well-being and development.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • observe and identify students' participation opportunities in teaching and school life
  • contribute with assessments and recommendations regarding sensory-motor, perceptual and executive challenges
  • guide and consult with teachers, pedagogues and other professional groups regarding adjustments to learning environments
  • plan and implement targeted interventions for individual students or groups
  • participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with parents and relevant partners
  • contribute to the development of our special educational practice.

What do we offer?

We offer an academically exciting and ambitious working environment with a high degree of multidisciplinary collaboration and the opportunity to make a real difference for children and young people with special needs.

You will be part of

  • an engaged and competent multidisciplinary team
  • a workplace with high professionalism and a strong collegial community
  • accessible leadership and short decision paths
  • a daily life with room for both professional immersion, development and humor
  • ongoing professional sparring and internal courses and competence development.

We are looking for an occupational therapist who

  • has experience with or interest in working with children and young people
  • has knowledge of sensorimotor, perception and participation opportunities in school contexts
  • can translate professional assessments into concrete and practical recommendations
  • thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration with teachers, pedagogues, speech therapists and management
  • has a resource-oriented view of students, parents and colleagues
  • works independently, in a structured and development-oriented way.

We do not necessarily require an occupational therapist with many years of experience in the school sector. The most important is that you are eager to bring your occupational therapy competencies into play in a strong interdisciplinary community around children and young people with special needs.
