About the job

We are looking for two colleagues who want to work as primary care providers in our F-ACT team at the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic Gladsaxe. We would like to hire an occupational therapist for the Gladsaxe-Furesø team and one for the Gentofte-Lyngby team.

Weekdays and duties

We work based on the F-ACT model, which means that our treatment offerings are flexible and provide the opportunity to offer outreach treatment in the patients' homes or local area.

With a focus on high quality, you collaborate closely with all parties around the patient. This includes both the cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary and the patient’s relatives. We also collaborate with the patient’s municipal support contacts.

You will be the primary care provider for a number of patients, where you get the opportunity to use your occupational therapy competencies in a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, social workers, recovery mentors and doctors. On equal terms with your other colleagues you conduct outpatient conversations, go on home visits and visit the patient during hospitalization.

As an occupational therapist in a F-ACT team you work with patients with many different problems. You get a unique opportunity to build trusting relationships and to gain insight into what motivates the individual patient. You have an eye for small progress and are able to acknowledge and create motivation through the small victories that are crucial for a good treatment course.

We work from a cognitive and recovery-oriented perspective. This means that you will, for example, work with crisis plans, weekly plans, weighted products and substance use treatment. A part of the work is about motivation through relationship work, as patients have very different needs requiring extra creativity and flexibility; some of our patients are vulnerable and have a greatly affected level of functioning.

You participate in multidisciplinary discussions and treatment conferences, where you bring your monodisciplinary competencies into play.

A bit about us and what we can offer

We are a well-functioning outpatient clinic consisting of a multidisciplinary staff. The outpatient comprises three teams; namely the Gladsaxe-Furesø team, the Gentofte-Lyngby team and a team for patients living in residential facilities.

We are known for our commitment and make a special effort for our patients and the common well-being every day. We hold groups across the outpatient. We have an informal tone and a cheerful everyday life, where we gladly help across when there is a need.

You have great influence on planning your workday, but we help each other and have a shared caseload.

We have weekly multidisciplinary treatment conferences and daily board meetings. We have supervision every 4 weeks.

In your start-up period there will be ample time allocated for introduction to become familiar with the FACT model, the daily work and routines. You will be assigned to an experienced colleague/mentor and have the opportunity to attend the course ‘Getting Started in Psychiatry’ if you are new to working with psychiatry in the Region of the Capital.

We prepare you to work in a patient-centered and de-escalating manner.

We also offer a monodisciplinary network across the center.

About you

You are a trained occupational therapist and have experience with the psychiatric field. You are familiar with cognitive methods and preferably have experience with recovery-oriented work. You are particularly interested in working with vulnerable and disadvantaged patients.

We expect the following from our new colleague

  • have good collaboration skills and a desire to develop professionally and personally
  • have knowledge of psychiatry
  • see the patient’s resources
  • enjoy working independently with patients at their homes
  • be good at sharing knowledge and seeking sparring
  • be engaged in our multidisciplinary perspective
  • have an interest in patients with vulnerability and difficult social problems

The position involves outreach duties and therefore requires a driver’s license.

Salary and terms of employment

Start date 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

The position is 37 hours.

You are employed according to the agreement for non-leading occupational therapists, physiotherapists and midwives. You are during employment covered by the current working time agreement concluded between the Regions’ Payroll and Rate Board and the Occupational Therapist Association.

The outpatient currently is open Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00. Your working hours will therefore primarily lie within this time frame.

The region is a 24-hour area, and you will, after concrete need, be scheduled with shifts outside the outpatient’s opening hours in accordance with the rules in the applicable working time agreement.
