One-year temporary position as physiotherapist, Psychiatric Department Middelfart

We are seeking a professionally curious and engaged physiotherapist for a one-year position at 37 hours in forensic psychiatry with start of employment as soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2027 .

You will be permanently attached to P6 - an integrated open and closed forensic psychiatric ward, where you will participate in a multidisciplinary collaboration with, among others, nurses, social and health care assistants, pedagogues, doctors and an occupational therapist. The department has 9 physiotherapists, including a mono-disciplinary coordinator and a clinical instructor.

Your primary task is psychiatric physiotherapeutic examination and treatment of inpatients with a focus on strengthening functional level, coping strategies and a health-promoting lifestyle as well as preventing coercion and inappropriate behavior.

We work from a psychomotor and resource-oriented approach, where physiotherapy is a meaningful part of the patient’s overall treatment. Education in Basic Body Awareness Therapy or Norwegian Psychomotor Physiotherapy is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The treatment takes place in good physical surroundings with access to training rooms, gym hall and scenic surroundings close to forest and sea.

Psychiatric Department Middelfart houses 7 wards (1 general and 6 forensic psychiatric) with a total of 102 beds as well as local psychiatry and forensic psychiatric district functions. We are a diverse workplace with a focus on interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, recovery and a safe, professionally well-founded treatment environment.

We are looking for a physiotherapist who

• Has experience with psychiatric physiotherapy or strong interest in psychiatry, preferably combined with broad professional experience in both somatic and psychiatric issues.
• Is professionally engaged, proactive and persistent in multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Works flexibly and outreach-oriented and can initiate relevant actions quickly, also during acute and short admissions.
• Meets patients with empathy and patience, works motivating and can maintain calm in conflict situations and in encounters with patients in affect.

Salary and employment terms

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position as a nurse. You will be informed of base pay, centrally determined allowances and pension according to the agreement for Ergo-, physiotherapists and midwives, no. 33.21.1. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. The department only hires employees with a satisfactory criminal record, and a public criminal record (10 years back) will be obtained with consent.
