Event Coordinator Trainee at Byens Hus: Co-create culture and communities

This is what your day-to-day will look like here

Your day-to-day at Byens Hus will be anything but monotonous.

You will become part of an engaged team, where, in close collaboration with co-creators – both volunteers and associations – you develop, coordinate, and communicate events that create communities across Gentofte. Together with the team you will work on everything from idea development to the execution of larger cultural events such as SKAB, GentofteNatten, Culture and Festival Days, and much more.

When you are not working on larger events, you will support citizens and our volunteers in realizing their own ideas and activities in the building. You advise on local bookings, help with marketing via social media and create the framework for them to make their initiatives succeed.

In short: Your role will be to be the bridge between Byens Hus and the people who create life and activities in the house.

During your apprenticeship you will also get to meet and carry out projects in collaboration with other parts of Gentofte Municipality – this could be collaboration with libraries, Garderhøj Fort or departments at the Town Hall.

A bit about us

Byens Hus is Gentofte Municipality's cultural house and a gathering place for co-creation, communities and democracy.

Here, citizens, associations and networks meet to create cultural activities that strengthen the community. The majority of the house's activities are citizen-driven, and our team is tasked with supporting and developing these initiatives in collaboration with our many co-creators.

We work regeneratively and purpose-driven, which means we prioritize transparency, shared leadership and a strong team spirit. With us you get freedom and responsibility so that we together can create a workplace that gives more energy than it takes.

At the moment, Byens Hus is undergoing a larger transformation that will open the cultural house even more, create better accessibility and more meeting places. You will therefore enter a process where the renovation still needs to be completed and we gradually reopen during the spring.

A bit about the practicalities

• The position as an event coordinator trainee starts in early 2027 by agreement
• The application deadline is 23 November 2025
• We will conduct interviews on December 8 and 9
