EXPERIENCED DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER, who would like to be able to knit, is sought for a lively blind woman - as a substitute

I am a blind woman of 61 years who is seeking a flexible and experienced helper with a good mood 😊

You would also very much like to be able to knit, as knitting is my main interest. You must also be able to read patterns, knitting diagrams and help with "translating" it, which I as a blind person cannot understand. You must be able to cast on and help me pick up stitches or fix mistakes.

In addition to that, you should help me with daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, shopping and walks, read emails, write letters, accompany me to training as well as to doctor appointments. It is important that you are proficient with a computer and can help me with e-Boks etc.

In addition to being blind, I have very poor balance, so you must ensure that I get safely to and from.

You may have worked as a disability helper before, and therefore have experience helping others.

You may also be a woman, as I need a guide in the changing room when I swim and in addition I will also need you in the water, so it is an advantage that you are not afraid of water, but you do not need to be able to swim.

I am looking for a helper for the following shifts

Working hours will be as follows

Thursday evenings from 16:00 – 21:30, and there may be substitute shifts when someone is sick or on vacation.

As I am a very active woman, there will be ongoing events such as concerts, talks, knit cafes and similar, which you will attend as my companion.

I often go on both day trips and trips with overnight stays, which you must also be able to participate in.

The hours can be on both weekdays and weekends.

It is a condition that you have your own car to be considered for the position :-)

You will be paid travel allowances according to government rates.

Unfortunately I suffer, in addition to my visual impairment, from severe asthma and bronchitis, and therefore do not tolerate smoking.

In addition I also have the disease Bardet-Biedl syndrome.

You will be employed through LOBPA, and thus will be covered by the collective agreement for disability helpers, entered into between DE and FOA.
