About the job

Do you want to work with financial management in a central government institution in the heart of Copenhagen? Are you motivated by working closely with the business, and do you have a good eye for processes? Then you should apply for the job in the Ministry of Finance's Corporate Economics, where we are currently seeking an experienced financial partner for the Economic Agency.

About the position You will be part of one of the state's best finance functions in the Ministry of Finance's Corporate Economics. We actively work to develop a simple and efficient financial management that supports the business's needs and gives the ministry's leadership the best possible basis for making decisions.

In the Ministry of Finance's Corporate Economics we have the responsibility for financial management in all ministry institutions, and you will become part of the team that supports the Economic Agency.

As an experienced financial partner you will be responsible for financial management in central business areas in the Economic Agency and come close to decisions on operations, investments, and development. You will help set the framework for financial management in the short and long term and advise the management hereof. You will be part of a professionally strong team where we spar with each other and lift tasks in collaboration. The team consists of colleagues with different levels of experience, and you are expected to contribute to both your colleagues' and the team's development.

We imagine that you have experience with budgeting, financial follow-up or related financial management tasks and can advise management on financial risks and options. It is also an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have experience with larger IT projects and capital management.

Examples of concrete tasks could be

  • Budgets and budget follow-up for selected business areas, including advising budget-responsible managers on risks and options.
  • Contribute to management reporting during monthly and quarterly budget follow-ups.
  • Analyses and decision papers to management on consumption patterns, resource utilization, etc.
  • Calculation of prices for services and strategic sparring with the executive management on this.
  • Assist project managers in preparing business cases and monitor the finances in large IT projects.

In the office we place great emphasis on collaboration and on solving tasks in a team, so no one is left alone with their tasks. At the same time you will quickly take on independent responsibility for your own deliveries, which you typically will prepare, develop and present to management.

Finally, we strive for all employees to participate in cross-cutting tasks in the office and to gain a broad perspective on the different types of tasks that Corporate Economics handles for the Ministry of Finance. The concrete tasks depend on interests and competencies and are agreed on an ongoing basis.

The working language is Danish.

About you You have a relevant academic education at master's level e.g. cand.merc., cand.polit., cand.oecon. or equivalent experience from a similar position. We also place emphasis on:

  • You are numerate and analytical and have experience working with data.
  • You are structured and thorough.
  • You are good at communicating in writing and verbally.
  • You have good collaboration skills and understand how to actively bring them into play.
  • You can plan and prioritize your tasks independently and efficiently.

About us The Ministry of Finance's Corporate Economics is organizationally located in the Economic Administration. The management team consists of one head of office and two deputy heads. We are about 30 employees, spanning a wide range in age, educational background and professional interests, and we are part of a strong professional environment in the Ministry of Finance's corporate shared functions.

We offer a good working environment characterized by an informal tone and a high professional level. We have a large and systematic focus on the office's overall development as well as each person's professional development and performance. We pay great attention to our employees' development. Specifically, all employees together with their manager draw up a development plan that reflects desires for career and professional development. We hold regular 1:1 conversations to follow up on development and well-being.

In addition, we are a social office with room for spontaneous events, and we regularly hold planned social activities.

For us, presence together with our colleagues means a lot, and we believe that collaboration and knowledge sharing across the agency is essential for a good working environment. At the same time, we want to ensure flexibility for our employees, and remote work can be arranged between the manager and the employee when it is compatible with task performance.

Terms of employment You will be employed under the government agreement for academics and will be placed as a clerk (fuldmægtig) or consultant based on your qualifications.

The area of employment is the Ministry of Finance with its associated institutions, currently the Ministry of Finance's Department, State Administration, State IT, the Economic Agency and the Employee and Competence Agency.
