About the job

Would you like to be part of a strong professional environment where both pace and mood are high? Are you interested in labor and employment law and EU law and the regulation of the labor market, nationally and internationally? And would you like to use your skills in a political context close to the legislative power and the minister? Then we have the dream job for you in the Ministry of Employment and Equality's department.

Policy development and legislative work The Office for Labour Law and Law is the department's central legal office and consists of two units: Labour Law and Law. The Labour Law Unit is responsible for the labour- and employment-law legislation in Denmark, including among other things the legislative processes, the implementation of EU law in the labour-law field and the Danish flexicurity model. The Law Unit are the department's in-house lawyers and advise the entire organization on classic public-law issues, including administrative law, constitutional law and data protection law.

We are looking for an experienced consultant for the Labour Law Unit, who works with a wide range of tasks within the labour and employment law field, including individual employment law, collective labour law, atypical employment, discrimination, equality and maternity/paternity leave. Our tasks often have large societal significance, and with us you come right into the engine room.

In the coming period we will among other things support an expert committee that shall provide recommendations to the government on how the Danish model can be strengthened, and we will participate in the government's work on better frameworks for a more flexible work and family life. We are also in full swing implementing the new pay transparency directive and the platform directive, and there are many other exciting tasks on the program. In other words, we deal with cases that fill both the political and the broad societal debate.

Your everyday life with us We are an office that values good collegiality. You will have sweet and skilled colleagues, who have everything from 1 to 25 years of experience in the office and are always ready to provide professional sparring. We work closely with the labour market parties, and you will gain a large network of both internal and external collaborators. Your workday will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to work both independently and in teams, just as you will have good opportunities to influence your tasks.

Your concrete tasks will be determined by your interests and experience, but the most important tasks will be:

  • advice on and handling of legal issues
  • ministerial servicing and policy decision briefs, including contributing to policy development
  • legislative work
  • stakeholder management, including ensuring close collaboration with labour market parties
  • participation in strategic development projects in the area.

The tasks may, from time to time, cross the two units of the office as needed. We have an international outlook and close cooperation with our colleagues in the International Office. There is the possibility of participating in international fora, e.g. in the Nordic Council of Ministers and in the EU, where we sit on the Council's working groups in connection with negotiations of new EU regulation.

Become our new colleague We imagine that you

  • are cand.jur or cand.merc.jur.
  • have an eye for being part of a team and for making your colleagues look good
  • have an interest in legislative work and political processes
  • have a high professional level, are structured and can create high-quality results
  • are a strong communicator in writing and speech.

It is an advantage – but not a condition – if you have experience with labour law or relevant experience from an agency or a department.

Salary and terms of employment The position is a permanent full-time position. We expect you to start on 1 January 2027 or after further arrangements.

You will be employed as a Special Consultant or Senior Consultant under the state academics collective agreement.

Your daily workplace is the Ministry of Employment and Equality's department, Holmens Kanal 20, 1060 Copenhagen K.

Questions and application Didn’t get answers to all your questions? Then you are welcome to contact head of office Christian Andersen-Mølgaard at tel. no. 2343 8795.

If you have questions about salary and terms of employment, you are welcome to contact Jóna Thomsen in Corporate HR at tel. no. 7220 5272.

We view diversity as a strength and encourage all interested applicants regardless of personal background to apply for the position.

We have made the application process easier. You do not need to send a classical application, but upload a motivated CV and answer two questions in the application form.

In your motivated CV you should briefly describe your motivation for applying for the position and your relevant competencies. The two questions concern your experience with and ability to understand complex legal issues.

Apply for the position no later than Monday 23 November 2026.

We expect to hold interviews in week 48.
