About the job

Would you like to work together with engaged, professionally skilled colleagues who safeguard their shared working environment? Then apply for a position with us.

We have a varied and professionally exciting daily life, where together with the doctors we treat, care for and look after patients with cardiovascular diseases. No day is the same. We have an informal tone of address and humor occupies a large part of daily life. We work with professional development and place a high priority on staff education.

We have regional functions in the examination of the heart's coronary arteries (CAG) and balloon angioplasty with stent treatment (PCI), and we receive patients before and after procedures in the Cardiac Laboratory. At the same time we have a regional function for patients with endocarditis, where we also handle outpatient nursing follow-up shortly after discharge. In addition we also receive patients with other cardiology issues. The hospital stays thus range from short admissions of 1 day to longer admissions of several weeks.

We place emphasis on high quality of care and support for the individual patient and their relatives. We strive to be professionally up-to-date in cardiology nursing, examination – and treatment principles.

The staff consists of 4 social and health care assistants and 30 nurses, of which there is a deputy head, two clinical specialists and a chief nurse. We are a well-functioning, dynamic and engaged group, passionate about nursing for the patients admitted to us, and we have good cooperation and social cohesion.

We have a wide age range from 25 to 65 years, and a good mix of experienced and less experienced nurses. Everyone helps each other, so you are never alone in an acute situation and there is always a nurse at work with cardiology continuing education.

If you have experience with cardiology nursing, that is great, and otherwise you will learn it with us. We have good experience with hiring and introducing newly graduated nurses, so it does not scare us if you come directly from the classroom.

You will receive a structured introduction when you start, where at minimum the first 8 weeks you are outside the normal staffing and have a mentor who follows you during the introduction period. We have a good learning environment in the department and offer among other things:

  • 3 days of Cardiac basic education during the first year
  • Cardiac continuing education after 2-3 years
  • Annual participation in Skills Station, which is competence development in selected nursing areas
  • Simulation training
  • Daily 5 professional minutes, where we share knowledge and experiences with each other

We are seeking nurses with

  • With an interest in and willingness to learn new things and a desire to participate in the department's ongoing development
  • With good communication and collaboration skills
  • Who enjoy acting in a sometimes busy daily life with many balls in the air and where changes and new initiatives are experienced as positive
  • With an empathetic and welcoming demeanor

In January 2028 we move into completely new premises at the new Zealand University Hospital in Køge.

You can work full-time or part-time and every 3rd weekend. You have influence on your own shift schedule and consideration is given to family and leisure interests. You are very welcome to drop by and visit the department and have a cup of coffee.

If this has sparked your interest, please contact Chief Nurse Lene Arnesen or Deputy Head Mette Busk Hansen at tel. 47 32 23 28.
