About the job

Would you like to help make a difference for vulnerable children and young people in Silkeborg?

We are looking for you who would like to help strengthen the efforts for the children and young people who need placement in a foster-, network-, support-stay- or respite-care family.

As a family foster care consultant with us, you will play a central role in creating the good match between the child/young person and the foster family and, through guidance and supervision, to strengthen and support the foster family in creating safety, stability and positive development for the child/young person.

You will become part of a professional community where we believe we succeed together – with each other, the foster families and our partners. We work inclusive and solution-focused and have the child's perspective as a common focal point.

We are seeking an engaged family foster care consultant for a permanent position of 37 hours per week.

Your tasks as a family foster care consultant will include

  • supervise and advise foster, support-stay, respite and network families
  • teach foster and network families in “Close Supported Startup Program” (TSOP)
  • match children and young people with the right support and foster families
  • recruit support and foster families and manage the hiring-related aspects, as well as have an eye for their working conditions and well-being
  • conduct supervision visits to respite families
  • prepare status reports in collaboration with the foster families
  • work closely with child and youth advisors, the social inspections and other relevant partners to ensure coherent pathways for the child/young person

We are looking for someone who

  • is educated as a social pedagogue or social worker, preferably with practical experience from the placement area and relevant continuing education
  • has a desire or experience with giving and receiving supervision and with working from a mentalizing approach
  • has knowledge of and preferably practical experience with TSOP - is a certified instructor or willing to become one
  • works independently and systematically
  • has an eye for the child’s/young person’s perspective
  • communicates clearly both orally and in writing
  • has a desire to develop both practice and collaboration in the field
  • is a team player who actively contributes to a good working environment and a committed work community
  • has a driving license – it is necessary for the job

We offer

We know that we must thrive in order to perform at our best.

Therefore we focus on the good, committed work community where we together take responsibility for the tasks and each other’s well-being.

We offer

  • a varied and meaningful work life with a wide range of tasks
  • a strong collegial community with engaged and capable employees
  • external supervision, mentoring scheme tailored to your experience and professional partnerships with colleagues from the team in all matching tasks
  • Health scheme, possibility of home-working days and great influence on the planning of your tasks
  • Professional and personnel management close to you
  • A workplace focused on high professionalism, development and innovation

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and local pay-difference agreement.
