About the job

Family consultants for Family House

The position is 37 hours per week with start date on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible.

The Family House in Haderslev Municipality is seeking new employees who are passionate about working with children and young people. We experience strong demand and therefore are looking for an employee with a pedagogical education and experience in the child area. Do you thrive in a daily life where professionalism, relationships and flexibility are in focus, then it might be you we are looking for.

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people and their families, helping them find their way in and take responsibility for a good life? And do you get energy and job satisfaction from having contact with many different people in various life situations? Then a job as a family consultant in Family House is probably just something for you.

As an employee at Family House you will become part of a team of engaged colleagues in a house with a "high ceiling" and room for professional and personal development, and we prioritize team supervision as well as external supervision. The tasks are diverse and varied.

For the positions as family consultant, we are looking for employees who

  • have a pedagogical basic education
  • can work independently but also in a team
  • can work practically pedagogically in the families' homes and contribute to giving the family more appropriate interaction forms and strengthen the internal relationships
  • have experience with or a desire to work in a network-inclusive manner
  • can work in a structured way and plan their calendar themselves
  • master interdisciplinary collaboration, including close cooperation with the authority area, and contribute to the professional community
  • show respect for diversity and life forms.

We are looking for an employee with experience in working with children in vulnerable positions – children affected by complex family conditions, parental challenges, divorce, diagnoses or general distress. You must be able to work respectfully with families with different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

The work involves situations where the child's well-being is under pressure. Therefore it is important that you can remain calm, take responsibility, work independently and be authentic and present in contact with both children and parents.

The tasks mainly take place in the families' homes and involve helping the family create structure, develop appropriate strategies and strengthen the parents' ability to meet the child's needs. You will also work on giving children and young people tools to handle emotional and relational challenges. In some cases Family House compensates the parents to ensure the child's well-being.

It is a condition that you can create trust and relationships and are not afraid to step out of your comfort zone. We emphasize that children and parents meet adults who are sincere and concerned about the child's best. You must also be able to involve the child's network, as this is often an important factor for positive development.

The position also includes tasks with supported and supervised contact, where you observe, guide and ensure good conditions for the child and the parents. It requires both professional expertise, openness and the ability to act calmly and professionally.

We work with the FIT method (Feedback Informed Treatment) and have knowledge of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). The work takes place both in and outside Family House, and therefore a car and driver's license are necessary.

We offer you

  • a Family House with competent staff who are passionate about their work to develop our work
  • to become part of a team with a professional leader and 13 other family consultants
  • a Family House with 49 staff members in total under one department head, who handles various tasks in accordance with the Child's Act (BL) § 32
  • a curious, dynamic workplace with focus on professionalism and quality in the work around every single child
  • accessible management with the possibility of 1:1 sparring as well as team sparrings and external supervision.
