Finance Consultant for cross-functional tasks for Glostrup Municipality's central Finance Department

Are you eager for cross-cutting economics tasks within revenue management, process coordination and analysis, then we may have the position for you in Glostrup Municipality's central Finance Department.

The central Finance Department in Glostrup Municipality consists of 20 people. We are responsible for the municipality's revenues and finances, the major financial processes (budget, budget follow-up and accounting), daily financial management and analyses. The staff in the Finance Department cover a very broad range, and everyday life can thus offer everything from strategic input to more operational financial tasks.

You will have your hands right down in the chart of accounts one day and prepare cases for the Municipal Council the next. The emphasis in this role is however on analysis and case production. If you think it sounds exciting, read on.

The Finance Department is organizationally anchored in the Center for Organization and Governance. Here we have in Glostrup Municipality gathered the traditional staff tasks: finance, IT, law, payroll and secretariat. We place great emphasis on ensuring that our work supports the rest of the municipality to solve the core task, and we work to make it easy for others to do it properly. Your tasks will be varied and include, among other things

• Analysis of and management of the municipality's revenues and revenue base
• Management of the municipality's loan and capital portfolio, including ongoing assessment of the investment strategy
• Preparation and follow-up on population forecast
• Advice and sparring with the head of the Center for Organization and Governance and participation in management meetings on your subject areas
• Prepare decision papers for the municipality's administrative and political top management
• Tasks related to budget and budget follow-up, including for example contributing to tasks in the financial annual cycle such as compiling material for budget follow-up or following up on budget agreements
• Prepare budget analyses and management information
• Various economic and administrative ad hoc tasks

What we expect of you

You should have a relevant economics or social science education. Some years of experience in public financial management is an advantage. We expect you to approach tasks – large and small – with an open and curious mind. In addition we place importance on that you:

• are used to working in Excel
• can communicate to multiple recipients and advise managers and decision-makers
• are familiar with financial systems or are keen to learn quickly (we use Prisme 365)
• can plan the workday independently, while also engaging in cooperation with other colleagues
• are friendly and professional
• take pride in finishing the task properly

Salary and employment

The position is full-time and is desired to be filled by 1 January 2027.

In accordance with the Salary Transparency Directive we must state that the minimum salary for the position is 31,813 DKK per month excluding pension. Depending on education, seniority and qualifications there will be an opportunity for negotiating allowances and any other collective agreement placement.
