Finance Consultant for Environment & Secretariat, Technical & Environment – Esbjerg Municipality

About the position You will join a strong finance team in TM-Finance, which supports Teknik & Miljø's core areas. You will become part of an office with broad finance tasks, where you will have independent responsibility for financial management at municipally owned companies, including Deponi Syd, Bobøl Deponi and Esbjerg Byfond. Here you will become an important sparring partner in relation to accounting, controlling and financial reporting.

The position offers a large amount of contact, where you will both need to delve into the numbers and communicate financial information in a comprehensible way to management and boards. Although the position is located in Esbjerg Municipality, a large part of the tasks will have the character of classic corporate finance with focus on accounting, controlling, bookkeeping, VAT and financial reporting.

Your tasks You will among other things have responsibility for

• Daily bookkeeping, invoicing, reporting of excise duties and VAT.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, intercompany accounts and banks
• Controlling and quality assurance of financial data
• Presentation of financial statements and financial analyses to boards
• Financial sparring for management and collaborators
• Participation in development and optimization of financial workflows
• Work in the financial systems E-conomic and KMD Opus
• Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on the related areas

Your profile We imagine that you

• Have a relevant financial education and experience from auditing, accounting or controlling. It could be from the auditing industry, a private company or another financial function. Municipal experience is not a requirement.
• Have strong competencies within accounting, reconciliations, reporting and financial analysis.
• Are able to translate complex financial issues into clear messages
• Work in a structured manner and have an eye for detail
• Have knowledge of E-conomic and KMD Opus or similar financial systems
• Are strong in Excel and work confidently with financial data
• Take responsibility and follow up tasks to completion
• Contribute positively to the community and the good working environment

Practical information This is a permanent position. Working hours are 37 hours/week or by agreement, with flextime and the possibility of up to two days of remote work per week.

Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement, including the current provisions on local wage formation.
