About the job

Do you want to work with financial management and financial analyses in a growth municipality with high ambitions?

In Silkeborg Municipality we are seeking an engaged and analytically strong financial management consultant who wants to work closely with decision-makers and contribute to competent and effective financial management and strengthen the corporate perspective across the organisation.

You will become part of an ambitious and informal community, where we help each other, share knowledge and at the same time have room for laughter in everyday life.

Your tasks will focus on financial management and financial analyses.

The tasks may include, for example, that you

  • are the budget holder for a subject area, where you act as a financial sparring partner for the department head and management
  • create an overview and direction in budget follow-ups and budgeting and translate financial issues into sharp proposals and a decision basis for management and politicians
  • conduct financial analyses that contribute to better prioritisation and governance
  • participate in or drive projects that support financial management across the organisation
  • contribute to the development of financial management, methods, processes and the use of data and BI across the municipality

Depending on your profile, we will bring your competences within financial management, data, BI, analyses and projects into play in the best possible way.

About you

We imagine that you thrive with responsibility and want to work at the intersection of economics, management and politics. You must be able to lift your gaze and think in solutions that support the corporate perspective and contribute to efficient financial management across the entire municipality.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • has deep financial insight and an understanding of numbers and data
  • can analyse a new issue and present the points accurately
  • has experience with – or would like to – coordinate finance-related projects and processes
  • has personal presence and thinks strategically
  • is a good team player in a collaborative workplace where we are ambitious, trust each other and look after one another.

We are seeking a colleague who can contribute to our even greater success. Your educational background is not important. You may have a social science education such as cand.oecon. or cand.scient.pol. Maybe you are a municipally trained economist. Or perhaps something completely different. The crucial thing is that with your expertise you can help raise financial management in Silkeborg Municipality. It is therefore a clear advantage if you have several years of experience with municipal financial management and experience with driving processes in a politically led organisation.

Most importantly, you have the motivation and energy to further develop financial management in Silkeborg Municipality.

Our organisation

In Silkeborg Municipality, the municipality's financial tasks are consolidated in a shared finance unit consisting of Corporate Finance and Operational Finance.

Corporate Finance consists of two teams

  • Budget and Analysis
  • Accounting and Capital Projects

We are seeking a new colleague for the Budget and Analysis team, where we solve tasks at the corporate level for the City Council, committee boards, management, directors, etc. We are responsible for coordinating budget processes and budget follow-ups, financial analyses, capacity forecasts and BI and we are project managers on finance-related analyses and development tasks.

You will join Corporate Finance to become part of a professionally strong community with about 25 engaged colleagues, where we prioritise collaboration, sparring and well-being. We have a culture where you can always reach out, and we have a good social cohesion.

The position offers good opportunities for professional and personal development, and we offer an exciting job with a central location in the organisation close to the City Council and corporate management.
