Church sexton for Lillerød Church – 30 hours a week

About the position

You help ensure that services, church rites and activities in the church and parish house run smoothly. As often the first face visitors meet, you help create a welcoming atmosphere.

You will be part of a workplace with 16 employees and share the tasks equally with the church's other church sexton.

Your tasks

• Practical church service for services and church rites, including reading opening and closing prayers and assisting at the communion
• Preparation of rooms in the parish house
• Preparation of meeting refreshments
• Cleaning of the church and parish house (a cleaning company assists seven hours per week)
• Purchasing of groceries and contact with suppliers of consumables
• Preparation of IT and AV equipment for teaching, lectures and concerts
• On-call coverage for illness, vacation and days off
• Practical assistance to other employees

The work involves moving tables and chairs and therefore requires good physical fitness.

Terms of employment

The position is 30 hours per week, spread over five working days with a fixed day off on Monday and a variable day off agreed five weeks in advance.

Employment occurs with Lillerød Sogns Menighedsråd, Kirkehaven 5, 3450 Allerød, under the negotiating area for OAO-S and the Danish Church Sexton Association.

Completed church sexton training is a requirement for employment.

Current civil servant church sextons may retain their civil service status on direct transition, provided that the position is classified.

Salary composition (calculated on the basis of 30 hours per week, amounts in current Danish kroner)

• Annual salary: 263,244 – 331,493 DKK
• Pensionable allowance: 1,135 DKK
• Availability allowance: 21,847 DKK
• Pension: 15 percent, paid by the parish council

There is a duty of availability associated with the position. Salary placement is agreed between the parish council and the Danish Church Sexton Association.
