About the job

Do you want to help lead and develop our social-pedagogical offerings for adults with complex support needs – and are you motivated by creating coherence between professional quality, staff well-being and safe operation?

The Bakkegården Foundation is seeking a professionally strong and leadership-ambitious deputy manager for the Adult Services. You will become a central part of the daily management and, together with the department head, ensure direction, quality and coherence across the areas offerings.

The position is newly established and part of a gradual development of the Adult Services leadership structure. You will therefore have both responsibility for current operations and the opportunity to influence the future organization.

About the position

As deputy manager you report to the department head for the Adult Services. You will have delegated professional, personnel and operational management tasks and will act as the department heads closest sparring partner and substitute.

You must be visible and accessible in daily practice and at the same time be able to maintain a cross-cutting view of employees, citizens, documentation, cooperation and operation. The position therefore requires that you can be close to everyday life and contribute to translating overarching decisions into clear practice.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Daily professional and personnel management following delegation from the department head.
  • Professional sparring, follow-up and coaching of employees and teams.
  • Participation in employee development interviews, sick leave follow-up, recruitment, introduction and retention.
  • Support of daily operations and coordination across the Adult Services offerings.
  • Follow-up on staffing, work planning and use of staff resources.
  • Ensuring quality and progression in action plans, daily documentation and status reports.
  • Support for alignment between citizens orders, support needs, goals and the concrete pedagogical interventions.
  • Follow-up on decisions, agreements, procedures and professional development initiatives.
  • Participation in meetings with authorities, relatives and other partners.
  • Participation in admissions, start-up and planning of new citizen pathways.
  • Contribution to the development of common professional standards, workflows and culture across the area.
  • Participation in the foundations management collaboration and on-call function.
  • Taking on the department heads functions by prior agreement during their absence.

The department head retains overarching responsibility for, among other things, economy, admissions, authorities cooperation, capacity development and the areas strategic direction. The division of tasks and responsibilities between the department head and deputy manager must continuously be clear and adapted to the areas development.

About the Adult Services

The Adult Services consist of several social-pedagogical offerings and initiatives under the Social Services Act sections 107 and 108. The area includes citizens with varied and sometimes extensive support needs – from long-term residential care and smaller intrusive interventions to sheltered, staff-intensive and individually tailored pathways.

The offerings are currently organized on several sites, but the development of the Adult Services takes its starting point in a unified capacity and leadership thinking. The goal is to create greater coherence, a common professional direction and better opportunities to use employee and leadership resources flexibly across.

You will be an important part of this development and must be able to see opportunities in building an organization that is professionally sustainable, operationally robust and able to accommodate new types of tasks.

The target group

Cit+izens in the Adult Services may include

  • Social, psychological and cognitive difficulties.
  • Autism spectrum disorders, ADHD or other developmental disorders.
  • Attachment-related and upbringing-related issues.
  • Psychiatric issues and need for support for treatment pathways.
  • Outward-focused or self-harming behavior.
  • Substance abuse problems or risk of relapse.
  • Need for extensive structure, relational support and help with everyday life.
  • Need for sheltered or individually tailored interventions.

Interventions are planned individually based on the individual citizens order, functional level, resources and development opportunities.

Our professional basis

In the Adult Services we work relationally, structured and resource-oriented. Citizens must be met with respect, clarity and genuine involvement, while employees can establish the necessary framework around complex and demanding pathways.

We emphasize that the professional effort is clearly described, systematically documented and continuously adjusted in collaboration with the citizen, the authorities and relevant partners.

As deputy manager you must be able to stand by this direction and help translate it into concrete and recognizable practice throughout the organization.

We expect that you

  • Have a relevant social profession education, for example as a social worker or social educator.
  • Have experience from the specialized social area and preferably from residential facilities under the Social Services Act sections 107 and 108, and preferably experience or knowledge of the authority area in the Specialized Social Area
  • Have managerial experience or clear managerial competencies and ambitions.
  • Can lead close to practice without losing sight of the overall organization.
  • Can create followership and set a clear professional direction.
  • Have an eye for the connection between professional quality, personnel management, operations and economy.
  • Can make decisions and maintain an overview in complex or acute situations.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have experience with professional documentation, outcome measures and status descriptions.
  • Can give and receive clear and constructive feedback.
  • Are reflective about your own leadership practice and can engage loyally and independently in a tight leadership collaboration.
  • Hold a driver's license for a regular car.

We offer

  • A newly created position with real potential to shape both function and organization.
  • A close collaboration with the department head and access to ongoing leadership sparring.
  • A central role in the development of the Bakkegården Foundations Adult Services.
  • An organization with short decision paths and the possibility to translate ideas into practice.
  • Dedicated employees with varied experiences and competencies.
  • Professionally challenging and meaningful tasks.
  • Supervision and opportunity for relevant competence and leadership development.

The position is 37 hours per week. Working hours will primarily be during weekdays during daytime, but the position requires flexibility in connection with meetings, acute situations and other leadership tasks outside normal working hours.

Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable onboarding agreement and local agreement for private residential care homes and hostels entered into between Social Educators East Jutland and the Bakkegården Foundation.
