About the job

Are you passionate about French, language and culture, and can you inspire students to become curious about the language and want to use it? Then you might be our new colleague.

We are looking for a academically strong and engaged teacher of French across 6th-9th grade. This is a fixed part-time position with a 50% full-time equivalent.

You will become part of the upper school and will work closely with the school's other French teacher on teaching, academic progression and development of the French subject.

About the position

We want a teacher who is passionate about the French subject and about everything that comes with good language teaching: to spark curiosity, create courage to use the language and give students the experience that they can always do more.

You must be able to create inspiring, varied and academically ambitious teaching, where students meet both the language and the Francophone cultures in a lively and meaningful way.

It is important that you have an eye for the special aspects of teaching a foreign language and can plan teaching where students work with speaking, vocabulary, pronunciation, texts, culture and communication. At the same time, students must have the opportunity to listen, speak, read and write, experiment and experience the joy of gradually being able to express themselves in French.

You will become part of a closely collaborating team of teachers and pedagogues with a focus on students' learning, wellbeing and opportunities to participate.

About Bagsværd School

We have a strong focus on academic rigor, wellbeing and inclusive learning environments. Collaboration between teachers, pedagogues, co-teachers, cross-professional partners and management is a central part of our everyday.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Is teacher trained and has strong professional competencies in French
  • Is passionate about the French subject and about conveying language and culture
  • Can create varied, engaging and academically well-founded language teaching
  • Has understanding of the particular didactic approaches associated with teaching a foreign language
  • Can create a safe learning environment where students dare to use the language actively and try themselves
  • Has an eye for academic progression from 6th to 9th grade
  • Is a clear and relationship-capable form tutor
  • Works inclusively and with differentiation
  • Wants a close professional collaboration with the school's other French teacher
  • Contributes actively to team collaboration and the school community

It is an advantage if you have teaching competence in French and experience teaching in upper secondary. The most important is that you have strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm for the subject and a desire to create good French teaching together with us.

We offer

  • Close professional collaboration with the school's other French teacher
  • Opportunity to influence the development of the French subject at the school
  • A strong collegial community with high professionalism
  • Close professional and pedagogical sparring
  • Good physical settings and attractive outdoor areas
  • A workplace focused on students' learning, wellbeing and sense of community
