Handicap Consultants seeks: Energetic and engaged disability support worker for a 12-year-old boy in Billund

We are seeking a helper for a 12-year-old boy with ADHD, who needs a stable, present, and active support person in everyday life. The position is unskilled, but requires commitment, maturity and a desire to make a difference.

About the position

You will become part of a small team around the boy, where there is time for play, activities and support in structure and framework. He thrives best with one-on-one contact, where he can get calm, support and presence. You should be willing to take the boy to football on Monday or Thursday afternoons and take him on outings.

There are 15 hours per month approved, and the working hours are planned flexibly with the family – e.g., one afternoon per week (2–3 hours, typically 15:00–17:00) and some hours on the weekend, possibly a fixed Saturday, to be agreed further.

Tasks

Play and engage in fun activities (e.g., football, library, cooking, creative projects, excursions, etc.)

Be a playmate and role model who can stimulate, support and create a sense of security

Help maintain structure, agreements and clear boundaries

About the boy

He is a smart, sensitive and funny boy who needs a helper who is calm, clear and trustworthy – someone who keeps their promises. He is not prone to outbursts, but can have days where he is a little down. When he is met with understanding, patience and energy, he thrives and greatly enjoys the company.

Has some digital understanding and can incorporate it into the time together

Is reliable, clear and stable

Not necessarily has experience, but has the desire and the right heart in the right place
