Functional Leader for the New Regional Acute Nursing on Funen

Right now you have a rare opportunity to become part of building a completely new regional offering. As a functional leder in Acute Nursing, you will play a central role in developing a strong, cohesive and citizen-facing acute nursing service that makes a real difference for the citizens.

Citizen-Centred Health is a new department at Odense University Hospital with the ambition to strengthen the close health services and bring treatment and care closer to the everyday life of citizens.

By 1 January 2027 we are working to prepare the transition of municipal acute nursing to a regional regime. When the transition takes effect, Citizen-Centred Health will assume the overall authority and operations responsibility for the offering.

A leadership role of great significance

As a functional leader you will be part of a close leadership partnership, where you, together with your leadership colleague, share responsibility for establishing, developing and setting the direction for the new acute nursing on Funen. You will have managerial responsibility for employees distributed across eight sites, and triage is part of Acute Nursing’s tasks with managerial anchoring with you as the functional leaders.

An important part of the task will therefore be to create presence, coherence and a common direction across geographic distances and local differences. You will also have the opportunity to influence culture, collaboration and professional direction in an organization under construction. We emphasize that you thrive on taking responsibility, building relationships and getting people to succeed together on a shared task.

Your main tasks

You will, among other things, be

• leading and developing the workforce
• ensuring high professional quality, patient safety and focus on the citizens’ needs
• supporting the implementation of professional standards and quality work
• strengthening the coherence of citizen pathways
• furtherdeveloping collaboration with municipalities, general practice and other partners
• contributing to the continued development of Acute Nursing as an attractive and professionally strong offering

Experience from municipal nursing, acute nursing, citizen-centered health or regional operations is an advantage, but the most important is that you have the desire and ability to help create something new.

Employment terms and application

This is a permanent position of 37 hours per week.

The appointment is as a functional leader corresponding to the level of senior head nurse.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Health Cartel leaders and managers – collective agreement 32.26. The salary placement is based on base pay L10. In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position and your experience and qualifications.

Interviews: First interview will be held at OUH on 22 October 2026. In connection with the interview you will be presented with a case. A possible second interview will be held on 28 October 2026.
