About us
The obstetric department handles about 600 births annually, partly from Nuuk, as well as all high-risk births from the coastal towns. The department is the only birth center in Greenland with obstetric specialist coverage. The gynecological department performs about 500 operations annually. In addition, 2-300 operations at coastal hospitals. The operating department in Nuuk is newly built with state-of-the-art equipment. Primarily general and uro-gynecological operations are performed. It is not expected that the applicant masters all operations. Furthermore the department handles the primary evaluation/treatment within gynecologic oncology and infertility treatment.
The gynecological outpatient clinic consists of about 500 specialist consultations and about 500 supervised registrar consultations
For the surgical area there are ten registrar doctors attached in a 24-hour on-call rota.
