Part-time church singer wanted for Jungshoved Church

Do you have a good singing voice, joy in hymns and a desire to be part of life in our church?

Then a part-time position as church singer at Jungshoved Church is available from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Jungshoved Church has an active congregation council that prioritizes music and singing in church; we have, among other things, a male choir and a choir conductor.

The position averages 6 hours per week, and the work mainly consists of singing for hymns and songs during services and church ceremonies such as baptisms, weddings, funerals/cremations, as well as reading the opening and closing prayers.

The work takes place on Sundays and holidays as well as on weekdays (cremations/funerals).

The church singer must also be available at approx. 4 parish events and 4 evening services per year.

The position can be a student job or a leisure job . Monday is a fixed day off for church staff.

We hope that you are willing to learn new hymns, are friendly, approachable and cooperative with the congregation, colleagues and the congregational council, and have some knowledge of the Church of Denmark – or are eager to get to know it better.

You do not need a specific education to apply. The most important thing is that you wish to sing and be part of the community around our church. You will have good and engaged colleagues.

Working hours and salary

The appointment is covered by the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the Central Organization of 2010, the organizational agreement for church officials with core tasks such as parish clerk, church and cultural worker or church musician and the associated protocol for church musicians. The agreements can be viewed here

Normal working time is 6 hours weekly (6/37), and an arrangement has been made for a time frame for possible placement of working hours during the week: Tuesday 10-15, Wednesday 10-15, Thursday 10-12, Friday 10-15, Saturday 10-16, Sunday 9-20.

4 evening services and 4 parish evenings annually on weekdays are announced 30 days in advance.

The placement in the salary band of 255,579 DKK – 373,538 DKK is agreed between the parish council and the Danish Church Musicians Association. The salary is set based on experience, qualifications and the parish council's proposal.
