Can you help others succeed in the kitchen? Do you have special knowledge about cooking, baking or a particular cuisine – and would you like to share it with others?

Nordsjællands Aftenskole is seeking new instructors for our upcoming courses and workshops in cooking and baking .

We are open to many different ideas and themes within both cooking and baking. It can range from international cuisines and classic Danish dishes to vegetarian and plant-based foods, bread and sourdough, cakes and desserts, seasonal dishes, Christmas baking, everyday meals with a twist, or courses focusing on particular ingredients and techniques. If you have a good idea or an area you are especially passionate about, we would love to hear about it.

Courses can be stand-alone workshops, weekend courses or shorter programs over several sessions .

Who are you?

You do not necessarily need to be a trained chef, baker or confectioner. The most important is that you have solid professional knowledge and practical experience within the area you wish to teach, and that you can convey your knowledge in an engaging and pedagogical way.

You could, for example, be a chef, baker, confectioner, culinary craftsman, food writer, or an experienced and passionate food enthusiast with a special area you know a lot about.

Teaching experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We emphasize that you

• are willing to teach
• can create a good and informal atmosphere in the group
• can teach participants with different prerequisites
• can plan a course with a realistic balance of time, ingredients and what the participants should achieve
• have an eye for hygiene, safety and good organization in a teaching kitchen.

Practical framework

We have activities in Rudersdal, Hørsholm and Furesø Municipalities , and teaching can be scheduled on different weekdays as well as day, evening or weekend hours.

We help with course creation, administration, registrations and marketing. Together with you, we will shape the course content, scope, number of participants and material/ingredient costs.

As an instructor, you are professionally responsible for the course and plan the teaching. For cooking and baking courses, we agree in advance on practical matters such as ingredients, procurement, kitchen facilities and cleanup.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment is conducted under the rules for folk high school adult education under the Folk High School Act and the applicable regulation on wages and terms of employment for evening school instructors.

As of 1 August 2026 the salary is

DKK 330.74 per teaching lesson excluding holiday pay.

There is 12.5% holiday pay , which corresponds to about DKK 372.08 including holiday pay per teaching lesson .

A teaching lesson is 45 minutes of instruction . The salary is set according to the current rules in the evening school sector and includes the preparation associated with the teaching.

ATP is also paid according to current rules when the conditions are met.

Employment is normally fixed-term and linked to the specific course or course program.
