About the job

Are you passionate about leadership, and are you up for new challenges in close collaboration with an experienced chief nurse colleague?

Then you are the chief nurse we are looking for to lead our upper surgical ward. You will have the opportunity to be a leader in a department with great autonomy in close collaboration with other leadership colleagues and an engaged staff group.

About the department

In the department you will experience a strong team spirit with good relationships, broad professional competencies and a focus on the core tasks. We place a high emphasis on our work environment and well-being and thrive in an informal culture.

We handle all facets of patient pathways, from acute to terminal patients.

There is close collaboration between the different wards in the Surgical Department, which consists of an upper and a lower ward with integrated outpatient clinics and an endoscopy unit.

The upper ward receives patients with diseases in the upper gastrointestinal surgical area, i.e. esophagus, stomach, pancreas and liver–bile ducts.

The lower ward receives patients with diseases in and symptoms from the lower part of the digestive system for surgical treatment. Both wards have 14 beds each and a few beds for short-term selective patients. The majority of patients are admitted via FAM. In addition, we also receive elective patients for operations and examinations.

In the Surgical Department, staff work closely in the wards and in the scope. Staff are employed in the surgical department with main functions in one ward. Staff cross-cover and help each other in daily routines, shifts, during holidays as well as during peak loads and unforeseen situations. Staff from the scope also participate in shifts/weekend work on the wards.

The department is a training site for nursing students and SSA students. A strong educational environment is emphasized with close collaboration between the educational supervisors and the ward management.

Qualifications

You have general clinical experience and leadership experience. Furthermore, you have a relevant leadership education, preferably at master’s or kandidat level, or are prepared to start this.
