As the head of Child Health and Movement, you will play an important role in driving and developing our health visiting services and children's therapy.

We are focused on ensuring all children a good start in life, with a focus on well-being, development and equal opportunities. In Child Health and Movement we offer professionally relevant guidance to all parents of infants and insights into the body's development throughout growing up. At the same time, we work with the physical dimension of a good childhood and youth life, with a focus on participation opportunities in positive communities for all children.

We work with standardized tools and systematic approaches, e.g. ICF and SST’s level-based division of health visiting efforts, with a focus on a high professional standard in our service profile.

You will be the leader of a dedicated team of 12 health visitors, three physiotherapists and two occupational therapists.

You are not alone, but become part of the overall leadership team in Family and Prevention in the Children, Youth and Culture Administration (BUK) and naturally collaborate across the child and youth area.

The position – and what we offer you

You report to the Head of Family and Prevention and are responsible for the department's tasks, development, management and personnel leadership. With us you can look forward to, among other things:

• Influence and space to set professional direction for a moving task: Together with the staff you will build on the work that has been started and on new initiatives such as group offerings, level-based efforts and consultations at the Nærhospitalet (Local Hospital).
• Skilled and engaged staff: You will lead employees who are passionate about their profession and creating good services – a department where responsibility, well-being and influence over your own workday mean a lot.
• A strong leadership team and cross-cutting collaboration: You will become part of a leadership team with six other leaders and the Head of Family and Prevention, where we stand close together and support each other. Together with us you will bring the department into play across the administrations and in collaboration with external partners.
• Development as a leader: Whether you have leadership experience or are new to the role, you will have the opportunity to grow as a leader – and you will meet colleagues who are happy to offer sparring and experience.

• In the short term: To strengthen collaboration and well-being in the department and strengthen the professional community across health visitors and therapists. The department is in the process of adjusting service levels and task solving so that there is a good coherence with workload, core tasks and a sustainable working environment.
• In the longer term: To develop the department so we get even more out of the potential of health-promoting, preventive and therapeutic efforts – in good cooperation with our surroundings.
• All the way: That cooperation with other units, administrations and partners functions well – because that is where we truly create value for children and families.

• Have a relevant professional background within the department’s areas and experience with health promotion, prevention and treatment – as well as experience with leadership or a desire to try yourself in it. You willingly seek new knowledge from others and develop together with strong professional actors.
• Take responsibility and have a sense of making things work – you set clear goals, create coordination and translate decisions into practical solutions.
• Keep calm even when it is busy, and have a good sense of both your own and others’ feelings. You are an accessible leader with a trust-based approach in your leadership style.
• Are independent and flexible – you have your own opinions and dare to challenge the familiar, while being open to new perspectives and able to find your way when circumstances change.
• Communicate clearly and thrive on cross-functional collaboration.
• Focus on implementation and are comfortable using data to monitor how interventions work.

The department consists of 12 health visitors, three physiotherapists and two occupational therapists and is based at Middelfart Nærhospital – close to relevant partners from the municipality and region, e.g. the local midwifery clinic. Family and Prevention also include the Family Department, the Family House, the Youth House, the Brohouse children and youth home and the Dental Service.

We expect to conduct

• 1st interview : December 1, 2026
• 2nd interview : December 8, 2026

Between interviews, a personality profile will be prepared, which you will receive feedback on before the 2nd interview. We expect you to start on February 1, 2027. Employment is conditional on obtaining a child and criminal background check. Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement and principles for local salary formation.
