A little about us

Lyreskovskolen is facing an organizational change, which means a change in our current division, as we move from being divided into a primary school (0-5 grades) and a lower secondary (6-9 grades) to a division with an early years, middle level and upper secondary.

Lyreskovskolen has about 450 students, including a special center with about 34 students. The total staff consists of 50 teachers and pedagogues, three department heads, a school principal and 8 service employees. We are happy to share our extensive professional knowledge, good humor and many experiences.

The management team is relatively new. The team is characterized by commitment, curiosity and a desire to create a common direction for the school. There is a focus on building trust and a strong internal collaboration, while the management works on being visible and present for staff, students and parents. As a new department head you will have the opportunity to become an important part of this work and help shape both good management collaboration and the school's further development.

A little about the position

We are seeking a department head for the middle level, who can combine pedagogical leadership, staff management, administrative leadership and organizational development. Someone who can handle both daily operations and longer-term development processes such as bringing the school's vision to life. You must be able to create structure and overview in everyday life while seeing how the organization can be developed.

We are therefore looking for a leader who thrives on being close to staff and students, but who is also motivated by administrative tasks, planning, coordination, follow-up and organizational structure.

Tasks

Your work tasks will among other things consist of

• operational tasks e.g. in relation to the school year's planning
• pedagogical and didactic sparring with middle level staff
• staff management
• being visible in everyday life
• parent collaboration
• meeting activities with internal and external partners

About you

Professionally we value that you

• have experience as a leader or have leadership potential
• have a leadership education or desire to pursue further education in leadership
• have a solid understanding of the public school's core tasks and the pedagogical and didactic tasks.

Additionally, it is an advantage if you are a leader who naturally moves between the relational, the pedagogical, the administrative and the strategic.

Application

The first round of interviews will be held on October 20, 2026. Selected candidates will be invited to interview on October 19, 2026. Second round of interviews will be held on October 27, 2026.

Start date: December 1 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment is made under an upfront agreement in the school leadership area.
