About the job

Would you combine emergency medicine with a central role in educating the doctors of tomorrow?

We are seeking a specialist in emergency medicine for a department physician position with a desire to join our education team.

We are expanding the number of junior doctors, including KBU doctors, and are therefore strengthening the education team in the Emergency Department. We are looking for a colleague who wants to combine daily clinical work with supervision, teaching and development of a strong learning environment.

About the Emergency Department

The Emergency Department is the hospital's common entry for acute patients and among the country’s largest emergency departments. Each day we receive, examine and treat around 170 acute medical patients and about 100 patients in the casualty department .

We handle the initial assessment and treatment of a broad and complex patient population. A large part of the patients are completed and discharged directly from the department, while others are stabilised and referred to other hospital specialties.

In the run-up to the move to Nyt Nordsjællands Hospital we are working purposefully to develop a modern emergency department with strong clinical processes, high consultant presence and cohesive patient pathways.

Emergency medicine is also an active part of the citizen-centered health service in Plan Area North . We shall contribute to developing acute services closer to the citizen, and The Mobile Emergency Nursing Care is anchored in the Emergency Department . This provides new opportunities to create coherence between emergency medical assessment and treatment in the patient’s own home and the hospital’s acute functions.

Your role in the education team

As a department physician you will become part of our specialist group and join the education team. Together with the team you shall contribute to ensuring that our younger doctors get a good start, clear professional support and progression in their education.

Your tasks will among others include

  • supervise junior doctors and KBU doctors in daily clinical work
  • contribute to introduction and training of new doctors
  • plan and conduct clinical teaching and relevant simulation activities
  • support competence assessment and provide concrete, constructive feedback
  • develop learning opportunities in a daily patient-flow environment
  • contribute to coherence between training programs, clinical tasks and daily operations.

The tasks are planned in collaboration with the education team and department management based on your competencies and interests.

We offer

  • A department physician position with a clear educational profile.
  • An active role in an education team that must support a growing number of training physicians.
  • A broad acute medical clinical work with close sparring in the specialist group.
  • Opportunity to influence introduction, supervision, teaching and competence development.
  • Opportunity to develop your own competencies within medical education.
  • An engaged interdisciplinary environment with collegial support and room for humor.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • is a specialist in emergency medicine
  • has an interest in medical education and wishes to actively participate in the education team
  • thrives with the broad emergency medical patient and complex clinical problems
  • is an accessible and engaged supervisor
  • can create security in the learning situation and at the same time set clear professional demands
  • contributes constructively to collaboration across professional groups and specialties
  • wants to take co-responsibility for the department’s professional development and working environment.

Experience with teaching, guidance or simulation is an advantage. The most important is your interest in education and your desire to develop in the role.

Education and work environment

Education is a core task in the Emergency Department. With more junior doctors and KBU doctors we gain both greater educational responsibility and new opportunities to strengthen our professional environment.

We emphasize that learning is an integrated part of patient care, and that junior doctors meet consultants who are available for sparring, supervision and feedback.

Our collaboration is based on orderliness, professionalism and curiosity . We help each other, take joint responsibility and work for a daily life with high professional quality and a good work environment.

Shift conditions

The position includes participation in the department's on-call consultant duty.

Currently the on-call back is a presence duty from 08:00 to 23:00 with subsequent on-call from home. The department is purposefully working towards establishing a 24-hour staffed emergency medical consultant presence .

Employment terms

The position is full-time with start 1 February 2027 or by agreement.

Salary and employment terms follow the current collective agreement. The application must include a description of your competencies within the seven physician roles as well as your interest in and any experience with medical education.

Application deadline: 3 November 2026.

Interviews are expected to be held shortly after the application deadline.
