Esbjerg Municipality's Contractor Department operates and maintains municipal infrastructure and green environments, so they collectively contribute to creating an attractive municipality for residents, newcomers and business.

We are seeking an engaged and skilled leader for District 5 in Ribe, who will lead the operation of Ribe town and countryside. The district is our geographically largest and contains a broad and varied operations task with responsibility for ensuring well-functioning, well-maintained and attractive municipal areas.

Job responsibilities

As the head of District 5 you will be responsible for planning, coordination, finances and leadership of all activities within the area.

Your tasks will include

• Coordination, delegation and follow-up on operations tasks within the hard (paved) and green areas
• Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Kammersluses and for the lockkeepers
• People management of 17 skilled employees in the district and 4-5 summer substitutes, including MUS conversations, sick leave and wellbeing conversations, and competence development
• Responsible for planning and resource allocation for personnel and machines
• Citizen contact and collaboration with contractors and other stakeholders
• Ensuring high quality in the execution of tasks
• Contribute to the development of the department's well-being, working environment and safety
• Participate in the Contractor's on-call system including the municipality's winter on-call system with responsibility for call-outs and deployment of personnel and material

Qualifications

• It would be advantageous to have an educational background in the green areas, such as gardener or similar, preferably combined with relevant leadership training.
• Strong written and verbal communication
• A good business sense
• Ability to motivate and lead a team of employees
• Organizational skills to manage resources and budgets
• Flexible and responsible approach to work
• Have a driving license. Minimum category B

We are approximately 170 employees and are part of Nature & Green Space, which consists of Nature & Water Environment, Properties, Park & Mobility and Contractor.

Your primary workplace will be Ørstedsvej 63, 6760 Ribe.

Working hours

Full-time.
